MGoBlog profiles Les Miles
Looks like Michigan blogger Brian of MGoBlog (one of the best CFB blogs out there) wouldn't be disappointed if Michigan hired Les:
Meanwhile, Miles has proven in the past couple years that his recruiting is not solely because of LSU's status as the flagship program of Louisiana. He can recruit monster classes to a school with a lot of built-in advantages. Michigan is one of these programs. There is unlikely to be a huge dropoff if Miles should leave; will they accuse the next coach of winning with Miles' players?
Improprieties proven are insufficient to disqualify him from the job, and those rumored are just that: rumored. Miles has never been in trouble with the NCAA; he played and coached at Michigan for a total of 15 years; he knows what the program and the school are about. Unless there is some proof he he cutting corners, the insiders should be ignored and Miles should be a strong candidate for the job. Just hire someone (me!) to call timeouts.
It's interesting, many of the Michigan guys clearly seem to like Les, while all around the blogosphere we tend to have those who continue to think he's a boob, and will never win a national championship. I can't entirely blame them for thinking so, but I'd be interested to hear the naysayers' takes on whether Les has increased his appeal in their minds at all so far this year (after all, both Va Tech and South Carolina have proven themselves to be relatively good teams). I'll certainly be looking for their commentary if we win tomorrow.

Never understood the boob part
Against top 25 teams (all in the top 16 mind you) he's 11-4. He's won six straight over top 12 teams. Winning 73 percent of your games makes a good coach. Doing it against ranked teams makes you a great coach. Especially when you don't lose to unranked teams (see Tuberville, Tommy).
