Charles Scott in Heisman Talk

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/gene_menez/09/29/heisman.watch/index.html

Who would have guessed this last year?

Nobody.

This is why I love college football. It is so stinking unpredictable.

Scott's averaging over 130 yards a game, and he's not a real home run threat. Don't get me wrong, he's had some long runs, but he's not getting the bulk of his yards off one 70 yard run and then having twenty 2-3 yard runs. Plus he is sharing carries with two sometimes three other backs. The others aren't getting lots of carries, but nevertheless he is sharing.

And I think a nickname a la Marion "the barbarian" Barber might be in order for Scott. He needs some big collisions first, then we can give him one.

Considering who he is up against, I dont think its out of the question for him to win. Chase Daniels will have to have some bad games because he looks like the clear favorite right now. Colt McCoy is coming on strong as well. Had no idea how fast that guy was.

You are absolutey right

This is Daniel’s to lose. McCoy will get consideration, but I think he gets dinged after OU does them next week. Likewise, if Daniel has more pitiful games (and losses) against the Sooners, then I think next up on the list is Bradford…maybe Max Hall…then we get to the running backs: knowshon/scott/ringer.

I say we go with "Great Scott"...

I’ve been thinking this since his first run of the year on Appy St. that went for like 50 yds. I get this mental picture of Doc Brown saying it every time he busts a 20yd run. GREAT SCOTT!!!

I could roll with that

I was thinking something like “The Freight”. A little play off the new movie “The Express”. But Great Scott could work.

Jonno’s been MIA for a while. Good to have you back.

I was resting for the UF game.

I figured my fingers could use a break so I took advantage of our bye week.

lol

a bye week per se.

that would be pimp.

Instead of a delorian, they could have a gold F250 with a big #32 in purple on the side going 88 mph with flames along the road behind him.

Sweet!

We should be working for the PR dept at LSU.

Also...

How cool would it be for them to play a clip from Back to the Future on the Jumbo-Tron of Doc Brown saying “Great Scott” after Scott breaks big runs. That would be freakin’ cool!
