LSU Trip
Hey Tiger Fans!
I currently live in Annapolis, Maryland, where I go to school. I'm active duty military, and have (by the grace of God) been granted leave for the weekend of November 7th. I've decided to use this precious time to go to Baton Rouge for Saban Bowl II. As an Alabama fan, this will be my first time to Baton Rouge and I wanted to be sure this trip was worthwhile.
So, this is a post asking for any advice about how to spend my time there (What are the good places to eat, etc.). I'm a huge fan of tradition, and wanted to know about any LSU traditions that are done before or after games. I'm getting in Friday night, and will be there until Sunday.
Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Whenever I’m back in town I try not to miss a trip back to The Chimes.
I recommend the Boudin Balls for an appetizer, with Crawfish Etouffee and a stuffed potato for your entre. Top it off with a pint of Abita Amber. MMMMMMMMMMM. Other good options are the hot crawfish salad with honey mustard and the blackened chicken alfredo pasta. I’d try to make it there on Friday night because it is just about impossible to get in there on gameday.
Mike Anderson’s is also a pretty good place to check out near campus. You wouldn’t want to walk from the restaurant to the stadium (although I have made that run when we played Utah in 2001) so I wouldn’t suggest it as a pregame meal either.
Walk-ons is a pretty good post-game hang out. Their food is hit-or-miss though. Some things on their menu are great (like fried seafood platters, and they have the best cheese fries ever) and some things are not so great. The traffic is so bad after the game that we usually walk here from the stadium and it’s a good 10-15 min walk. Also, the LSU post-game show is broadcast from Walk-Ons after the game.
