Game Time!
I really have no idea what my feelings are this week. There is a slight bit of butterflies in the stomach, and yet, my feelings are somewhat tempered by my belief that Jarrett Lee grew immeasurably last week.
Let’s Play Ball. Geaux Tigers!

Oh yeah!
A nice play by Kelvin Sheppard to blow up the reverse!
We don’t say that often.

scripted plays
This is why I hate scripting the first 15 plays. If your first down pass is a dud, and your second down run is too, do you still run on third & long. You do if you adhere to a script. Scripting the first 15 plays is an idea that should have gone to the dustbin years ago.

As we discussed last week,
Crowton needs to call the game to play to Lee’s strengths.

Even the option play that did pick up yards was awkward. Lee does not look comfortable on the option.

We have had no success with the run.
Nutt knows the problems with Lee and so, knows that our scheme is to run unless we have to pass.

Tolliver and Lee seem to be able to get timing down quickly.
And just as I typed that, Tolliver and Lee missed.

Shut Up CBS!
Every play we hear about pick 6’s or other information about Lee. Don’t need it.

But, we are opening it up a bit. That will spread the field. Still think Jarrett Lee is playing with more confidence.

name game
Wow. Verne screws up a lot of calls, but he got Jordan Jefferson’s name right. He didn’t call him George.

I'd like nothing more
than an LSU victory. And for the defense to stop allowing short passes, also for the offense to stop looking at the sideline like they don’t know what the hell they are about to do. (tongue in cheek)
Geaux Tigers! THANK YOU SENIORS!!
I’ll check in periodically – got some BBQ on the coonass grill (that’s a homemade grill with cement blocks and an old washtub for a lid). hehe

I'm almost inclined
to just go man my grill and listen to the rest on the radio. It’s getting hard to watch.

We have got to quit protecting Lee.
Let him play, for better or worse.

Whether ready or not
Jefferson is the man. Doesn’t look like Lee will be coming back any time soon.

Seems everyone has left the game thread. Final thoughts. Although am disapppointed by the flow of the game and the score, however, I do not despair for the season. Injury to Lee. Jefferson shows promise but, as the coaches said, he really is not ready. Old Miss knows our situation and they are just letting loose on us defensively.
CBS just showed the stadium. Still looks full. I am proud of that.
Come on, Tigers, get it on.

Coach Houston Nutt
Nutt came in here last year with Arkansas and beat our butts. NOW, he has taken a bunch that Ed O. couldn’t win with and is beating our butts again. I KNOW we have a QB problem, but our defense isn’t showing up most of the time. Good players, mostly out of position when it counts. Coaching, perhaps???? Co-D-Cords isn’t the way to go.

Cotton Bowl
The only good thing coming out of this loss is that we will NOT have to go to the Cotton Bowl and be embarrassed by either Texas Tech, Oklahoma, or Texas. Could you see our pass D trying to cover on of those offenses??

We cannot win 'em all.
Ole Miss is not exactly North Texas. Ole Miss beat Florida and is bowl eligible this season. After the Troy game you had to figure we needed to improve to face a long-time SEC rival. I was worried about this game and rightly so.
Our season…. is still a success folks! With a win over ARK next, it’ll put us at 8-4. We’ll have a post season despite our QB situation and problems on defense, plus we can only learn from the losses.
Geaux Tigers!
