Game Time

Little brother replaces big brother who suffered a concussion, and now he won’t give the job back. Last week, Nathan had quite a game passing. Looking at radar from the Little Rock area, it appears that rain will be the predominant condition today. Probably will have a definite impact on the passing game.

Good Lord

It’s like our defense isn’t even trying anymore

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 1:50 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I Expect

a high scoring game because it appears no one wants to play defense on either side.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 1:53 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Jefferson is looking good.

He knew where the 1st down marker was.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 1:55 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Damn

Great play even though he was down

"Arkansas, a suprise leader"

Who’s surprised? I’m sure as hell not.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:09 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Question is...

…whether they’ll get to 21 by the end of the first quarter or whether this drive extends into the 2nd

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:18 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm getting sick of Miles' calm demeanor

I want to see him f’ing furious at this garbage.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:19 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

We still remember how to blitz.

I thought that was a forgotten skill for our defense.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:21 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

When you're already giving up 14 yards a play

What the hell is there to lose by leaving another hole in the secondary by calling a blitz? We should be bringing it on every damn play. It’s a freaking freshman QB.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:23 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Last year the blitz was our bread and butter.

I fully agree…let him feel the heat! Blitz from everywhere!

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:25 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

OK, we have the first quarter out of the way.

Now, let’s drive down, and this time, put it in.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:23 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I generally do like Miles

And I think the general reaction on some message boards is ridiculous given his exceptional record in big games for us coming into the year. That said, it’s clear he is nowhere near being on the same level as an Urban Meyer or Pete Carroll or Saban (though few are). In their down years they don’t remotely lose control of their teams like this, teams whose talent greatly exceed the on-field displays.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:26 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not sure.

I still believe Les has a loyalty to his players to the extent that he will not make significant changes unless required to do so by injury or other issues. It seems that he probably knows that we are having a coaching problem on defense and will not come down on the players. I fully expect we are seeing the last of the dual coordinators. They need to be focusing on their position coaching.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:31 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Scott finally gets in.

And Jefferson is really looking good.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:32 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What the hell?

Did Bo Pelini start calling our defensive plays from Lincoln at the end of the quarter?

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:38 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

GeauTiger,

Ain;t cell phones great. Thanks Bo!

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:51 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Given Nebraska is down 14-0 to Col as a 14 pt favorite..

I’m guessing Pelini has taken a breather up there to help us out!

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:54 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow...a sack with no blitz?

What the hell has gotten into us?

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 2:51 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow,

I am impressed with Jefferson so far.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:58 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

And

I dare say it even gives me a glimmer of hope about this team as a whole

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 3:00 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

And 2

I mean, I find myself EXCITED as opposed to apprehensive every time we snap the ball on offense.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 3:00 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Amazing how fast he has come on since Lee went down.

Last week, he did not seem to have the same game vision that he is showing today.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 3:02 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Good run by Williams

We have to keep running outside the tackles.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 2:59 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yikes

Not a smart play by JJ pitching that one..should have just gone down. Lucky KW held on to it

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 3:03 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What did Miles know?

When we were all calling for Miles to do something, he just appeared to know something we didn’t. He just stayed with his game plan, and we take the lead. Guess that’s why he makes a “little” more than I do every year.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 3:06 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Still though

That 1st quarter D was bizarro-world bad

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 3:09 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Don't like that 3rd and 1 call at all

We’ve got a time out left….weird. Whatever. I’ll take the 3 points

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 3:12 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Nice little half there after the first couple possessions

Hi guys.

I too think the pass to the end zone on 3rd and 1 was a little perplexing. Otherwise, I am proud of the boys for pulling it together after a bad first quarter.

Just enjoyed a left over ham sandwich and a big slice of sweet potato pie. My appetite has returned after the first quarter.

by Richard Pittman on Nov 28, 2008 3:38 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Ugh

He just got schooled there in man coverage, that’s all.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 3:57 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Thanks, Peterson.

Seems we have gone back to the soft coverage.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 4:13 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Fouts is horrible

I don’t see how it’s so CLEAR that he was down

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:15 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Third time officials have caused us heavily.

Not saying they’re wrong, jsut that it is costing us.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 4:18 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Ugh

That’s the sort of penalty that ought to get a guy benched for the duration

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:19 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

On a play like that

Jackson needs to cede the outside to Sheppard and play the damn inside. No way they should have let Johnson through.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:27 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Are you kidding me?

Alem just kicked the damn ball. What a bunch of buffoons. ARGH.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:28 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Amidst all of this

This is a truly horrible team we’re playing a tight one with.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:30 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Three penalties have helped R-kansas move from their own five to the shadows of our goal post.

The one on Peterson possibly saved a TD, but the other two were simply stupid.

by lawildbull on Nov 28, 2008 4:32 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Why do they keep kicking to Trindon?

They might as well kick it out of bounds. They’d have been better off 3 out of 4 times doing that.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:37 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Once again

What happened to the 7 ypc version of Charles Scott?

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:39 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

HUGE, D!!!!

Way to go D and bounce back from the called-back INT

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 4:58 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

And there we have it

Forced into a difficult passing situation and we have to take a sack and give them another shot.

It’s amazing that our lines have crumbled the way they have this year. This game shouldn’t even be close.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 5:03 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

No excuse for losing to Arkansas

Playcalling down the stretch was questionable, at best, and we paid for it. So be it. This season got flushed down the toilet a while back so you’d think we’d turn it up with nothing to play for but pride

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 5:13 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Well, at least we have 3 TOs left

And I don’t mind depending upon the ONE reliable guy on this team, Colt David.

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 5:14 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Potentially the most underachieving Louisiana team I've seen

And I’ve seen a LOT of Top-10 talented Saints teams finish under .500

by GeauxTigers on Nov 28, 2008 5:18 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Chaque cochon a son jour.

Translation: Every pig has his day.

And apparently it was today.
I could talk about the penalties and the inconsistent coverage, but I’m not going to.
Hats off to Arkansas (especially their seniors) for a hard fought performance. Kudos for driving the field with no timeouts at the end. We’ll see you again at Tiger Stadium.

by CajunCavern on Nov 28, 2008 5:30 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Too late to worry about it now, but...

…what’s with the official tripping up the receiver on that last possession???

by LSUnerd on Nov 28, 2008 5:34 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

He didn't step toward the pocket and ultimately got in the way.

And it’s just as well because the receiver was going to be short of the first down, continuing to drain the clock and stopping the clock was more important at that moment.

LES MILES SUCKS

by toreaux on Nov 28, 2008 10:30 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Les Miles can kiss my azz

Horrible idea to have co-dc’s. Horrible idea not to sign qb’s when u are recruiting. Miles is an idiot for allowing Ark. to beat LSU. Have you ever seen a team collapse as bad as LSU ? I absolutely hate him. So many friggin penalties. Undisciplined. I hate this crap. A complete collapse. LSU is now the laughing stock of the SEC.

by screw les miles on Nov 28, 2008 11:10 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

tennessee, auburn, and mississippi state...

think you need to tap the brakes a little bit.

i don’t even necessarily disagree with much of what you said except for the qb thing. you can only sign a limited number of players each year, so you have to prioritize. given the assumption that perrilloux is not dumber than a sack of rocks, qb wasn’t a priority.

by gerry dorsey on Nov 29, 2008 8:20 AM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I agree. He did well to get J. Lee. You dont plan for the my starting qb might get kicked off the team contingency.

by nepomo on Nov 29, 2008 7:22 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This sucks.

What the hell happened? Why did tremaine and rahim do SUCH stupid penalties? What happened to our offense in the second half? Why did we get down 14-3? Why did we kick a 63 yard field goal into the wind? Why isn’t miles ripping asses on the sidelines? Why couldn’t we run consistently on one of the worst run defenses?

We seem to be getting more jumbled up instead of more organized.
