Around SBN: Two Minutes Of Thunder Basketball Wins The Game

DISTURBING..

First of all I am a  female Bama fan.  I want to congratulate LSU for a great game, I know both teams put everything out there for their team, their coaches and their fans.   I do know you cant judge a school by its fans because all teams have their share of great fans and then the not so great fans.   In case you havent heard, a female band member of the Million Dollar Band was hit with a bottle and possibly has a broken arm.  I myself was flipped off, told to F*** off, screamed at, had people pushing on my car and this was before I had even gotten out of my car to head to the game.  I even complimented one LSU fans shirt (it was cute, what can i say!)  and she looked at me and told me how LSU was going to beat Bama's butt, just not in those exact words.  I love a rivalry but some of you are taking this too far.   Everyone needs to sit back and enjoy the game.  Every team has their year and LSU should be proud of their accomplishments.  Bama has struggled the past 5+ years so of course I am proud of how the season is going this year.  Lets just all be a class act.

you can't reason with the unreasonable.

as i have learned this past weekend, no amount of logic or kindness will persuade the majority of this fanbase. and the fact is that most LSU fans are this way and will always be. i’m glad Bama kept it close so that LSU would actually think they had a chance and then rip their hearts out in overtime. The Saban effigy, the actions of the fans, and the sore loser attitude are only the tip of the iceburg with these people.

You would think that a competent AD would encourage against this sort of behavior, but look what they’re dealing with. The school and the local police have taken half-assed steps to deal with this because they don’t care.

When you guys come to T-Town next year, you better be wearing fucking armour because hell will rein down on you. You incompetent, classless excuses for human life.

So don't become the unreasonable....

You don’t condemn bad behavior by replicating it. I am confident that Tiger fans will receive a warmer reception at Bryant Denny Stadium next year than you suggest.

In any case, a lot of what occurred this past weekend was pretty embarassing and I hope things are different in two years. Hatred can drive people to do things they will come to regret.

That is a jackass thing to say

we are always griping about flamers at RBR and yet here you go running your mouth and taking shit too far. Chill dude don’t threaten LSU or their fans. That is ridiculous and you should be banned from this thread for being an ass.

I apologize for my post...

I was posting in anger from what happened to me at the game and for what happened to some of my friends. I wasn’t making any type of threat and I didn’t intend to condone violence.

thats a little harsh

i live in Tuscaloosa, and work at a bar on the strip.I love Alabama football ball but telling another teams fans to wear Armour is almost as unclassy as burning a effigy of someone. There are assholes in every fan base,Big monstrous assholes that are so huge that they have smaller assholes in orbit around them.I enjoy a little light hearted back and forth between two different fans but i want a good game and to gain insight into the other team. Not some sort a feud that lends both bases to there ignominious reputations.

yeah. thats too far. way too far.

This was a very emotional game for tiger fans, but that kind of stuff is inexcusable. I’m really sorry that happened to you and that band member.

I think it will be better in the coming years. We’ll still pull against Saban (while be thankful for what he did at LSU), but I think a lot of this anger towards him will have turn to resentment. Is any of it rational? Not really, but its very real, and is only being compounded by his success this year and our team’s struggling. For the most part, the bama fans have been reasonable and fun to interact with. Give us some time (like a couple years :) ) and I think you’ll find the same is true with us.

well

Sounds to me like it could have been self defense by the Alabama fan. The LSU fan was the one trespassing. Reports say that he started the fight and then went for his pistol. Whether the Alabama fan’s actions were justified or not isn’t clear, and some family members have been reported as saying the beef was over more than just the game. There’s still a lot of details that need to come out about what happened before we can jump to any conclusions.

Don't get me wrong,

I wasn’t trying to point a finger in any particular direction. I was just saying that this incident goes way beyond the usual postgame antics. And yes, it did sound like the LSU fan may have started it. Safe to guess that at least one person in the picture probably has a problem managing anger and/or alcohol?

Fan Behavior

As a long time North Endzoner, I am so sorry to hear this happen. This sort of behavior is so intolerable. Please know not all fans behave this way and my 14 yr old son is NOT being shown this type of behavior. We had several Bama fans in our section, and there was alot of smack begin tossed about – by them – but our group just smiled and patted them on the back… as we did not expect to win, and they were quiet shocked that the Tigers showed up to play a heck of a game. Again, sorry for the ugliness and injury, please dont judge all Tiger fans by just a few crazy ones.
