Chick-Fil-A is a sandwich, not a BOWL.

Perhaps, if they sold chicken gumbo, we could find a reason to call it a bowl. As it is, Geaux, Tigers!

Bring home the PEACH BOWL trophy.

For a few weeks we’ve been hearing about how we’re a huge disappointment an that GT would pound us.

If the first drive is any indication, the offense didn’t get that memo.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 6:44 PM CST reply actions

1st & 25

That’s a bad omen when they convert after 1st & 25. We can’t afford to let these guys off the mat like that.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:05 PM CST reply actions

May be wrong, but it appears that one major problem with the Triple Option is that when they get in Red Zone and can’t spread the field, it doesn’t seem to work. Would like to know the statistics on GT performance in the red zone.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:07 PM CST up reply actions

No disrespect to Peterson—he had good position—but a competent passing game scores the TD on that play.

I agree with your point about the short field…but is that effect any more than other schemes?

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:08 PM CST up reply actions

Think it might be. The triple option depends on the DE coming in and leaving a gap, Short field means the gap is not nearly so big.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:11 PM CST up reply actions

Maybe I’m imagining this, but the first 15 minutes went fast. That’s probably an effect of the triple option, but GT only had two possessions and threw more than normal.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:14 PM CST up reply actions

G Tech Red Zone

36 attempts, 29 scores; 18 TDs, 11 FG

LSU 42 attempts, 38 scores, 30TD, 8 FG

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:18 PM CST reply actions

Love the Internet.

Just google team name and red zone and the stats are right there on CFBStats.com

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:21 PM CST up reply actions

That was a great improvisation. The sort that’s fun to watch, but I hope coach told him never to do that again.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:21 PM CST up reply actions

The only thing that bothers me about this score...

is that 8 years ago GT led us 14-3 at the half and we came back to win after subbing Reauxhaun Davey for Josh Booty.

But I don’t believe in karma.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:23 PM CST reply actions

I wonder if the field judge went to LSU. He made that call emphatically.

Jasper should check his fillings after that hit.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:25 PM CST reply actions

3 TDs

If Charles Scott is planning on the 09 draft, he’s definitely working the stat sheet for a nice finale.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:34 PM CST reply actions

Nobody touched Scott again...

I’m beginning to enjoy this game, sitting here in West Louisiana, all alone. My dog is beginning to wonder if I’m sick!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:34 PM CST reply actions

That’s why we’re the only two posting comments…we’re both solo watching the game.

Cheers!

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:36 PM CST up reply actions

Seems the Defense is now playing like they should have played all year.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:41 PM CST reply actions

That was stupid

Ok, the call is ridiculous given the score and field position, but the formation also telegraphed the fake.

Just dumb.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:42 PM CST reply actions

Hate To say It

The Defense stayed home on that play. Think the Co-DCs called that defense?

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:46 PM CST up reply actions

I think is is gonna get real ugly, real quick. Jefferson is looking relaxed and th receivers seen to have confidence in him.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:44 PM CST reply actions

Another TD is nice, and

it looked to me like Jefferson checked more than one receiver on that play. He’s had a habit of only looking at one guy, so it’s nice to see him grow as a QB.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:45 PM CST reply actions

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

I was afraid GT might get points on that drive, get the ball back to start the second half, and then score again to make it a close game. Nice defense. Alem is a beast.

Time to go for the kill!

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 7:52 PM CST reply actions

Jefferson can take a lick!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:55 PM CST reply actions

And he had no problem taking off on a scramble right afterwards!

Welcome to the Pit!

by AllSaintsDay on Dec 31, 2008 7:57 PM CST up reply actions

Congrats!

Looks like better days are coming for y’all finally. I’m a Dawg Fan but like to pull for LSU in the west. Of course I would be pulling for Beelzebub if he was depantsing Ga Yech as y’all are right now, but still. Bring it on home now Tigers! Wow! Another six in the house even as I post.

by 15henson on Dec 31, 2008 7:57 PM CST reply actions

On behalf of everyone in the Bulldawg Nation

We thank you LSU Tigers for this wonderfully entertaining first half!!!!!

Geaux Tigers!

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

I appreciate that.

After our experience against Troy St., we won’t relax until it’s over. I think we need more points.

I’ll be pulling for UGA over MSU tomorrow.

Congrats to VAndy, by the way.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 8:01 PM CST up reply actions

Welcome aboard, Bulldawgs.

We will enjoy pasting Tech for you, and don’t even mind if you share in the glory!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 7:59 PM CST reply actions

Hey, Dawgs

Just wish we had been playing like this when we met you!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 8:02 PM CST reply actions

yeah i bet you do.

I wish we could have played Defense this well against Tech like you guys, your players look like they want it and are playing like animals on defense. And you will have next year to try to get your revenge, i’m sure it will be a good game.

Keep it up in the second half. Embarass the yellow piss of their jersyes!

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

What a great athletic play by Hawkins.

Support for UGA

In a previous life as a Army civilian, I was a frequent visitor to Atlanta. I knew even the surface streets. Was a great fan of Lewis Grizzardand so, had to develop a liking for UGA. So, will pull for you tomorrow.

SEC is the best, without a doubt! We may cannabilize each other, but, like family, we pull for each other against outsiders!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 8:08 PM CST reply actions

Let's Geaux, Tigers!

Tech will have to open it up in the air ’cause it appears that Miles did a great thing in bringing in the triple option expert for advice on how to stop it.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 8:26 PM CST reply actions

let’s see more of the same

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 8:33 PM CST up reply actions

I was just thinking that we had not had any stupid penalties, but that late hit was the first. I hope it does not come back to bit us in the @$$

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 8:36 PM CST reply actions

It looked like Tyson Jackson ate Dwyer on that 3rd down play.

And then GT coaches made another stupid call to go for it on 4th down. Putz!

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 8:39 PM CST up reply actions

The TIGERS are playing a much more disciplined game. Only three penalties so far: Off sides, holding, late hit!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 8:39 PM CST up reply actions

Is this the same Defense?

Where were they in the second half of the regular season.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 8:38 PM CST reply actions

Is the defense playing like this to send Peveto and Mallory out with a win?

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 8:55 PM CST reply actions

2

I think we got hosed out of 2 points there.

I’m surprised GT didn’t call for a fake FG from the end zone. Putz!

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 8:56 PM CST reply actions

Would love to see many more points. Would go far to establishing our position in pre-season polls next year, not that they mean anything. Just looks good to see the Tigers in the top 10.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 9:01 PM CST reply actions

I take that back

Only 3 points.

Colt David is a badass.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:03 PM CST reply actions

Tech needs a TD every 3.3 minutes to win with LSU not scoring anything.

Glad to see Colt David get his name called,. He’;s been a real player for the TIGERS

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 9:03 PM CST reply actions

Can you believe...

We’ve got 38 points with only 267 yards.

PS Nice tackle by McRey.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:06 PM CST reply actions

I hope they throw a pick-6 on the next play as punishment for that big gainer.

Speaking of pick-6, I hope Lee can get in the game.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:08 PM CST up reply actions

Looking good, L.S.U.

I know we still have 15 minutes to play, but I’m feeling optimistic.

As a Georgia fan who wants to see the S.E.C. do well and who has put up with a month’s worth of crap from those Georgia Tech people, let me just say . . .

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Geaux Tigers!

If I weren't an LSU fan...

I’d probably think this is one of the worst bowl games ever…first half blowout, miscues in the second half that prevented scoring.

And what about the other games today…OSU and PITT playing a snoozer 3-0.

Vandy had the marquee game of the day.

Yeah, break out (more of) the booze.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:22 PM CST reply actions

Ahhh, yes...

But we are LSU fans and, after this season, we need, no, deserve, this!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 9:25 PM CST up reply actions

If I weren’t an LSU fan, I’d be more of a putz than GT’s coach.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:26 PM CST up reply actions

It took until 10:46 left in the game...

…for me to remember my login! Now, what’d I miss? ;)

by LSUnerd on Dec 31, 2008 9:26 PM CST reply actions

Um...

thanks.

Very, very impressed with Jordan Jefferson.

by LSUnerd on Dec 31, 2008 9:28 PM CST up reply actions

Mostly, lawildbull and I have been chatting about how Scott is a stat machine, Jefferson looks good, the defense found discipline, and GT’s coach is a moron.

A couple UGA fans dropped in to thank us for mopping the floor with GT.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:30 PM CST up reply actions

orgeron?

can i ask what happened?

by 15henson on Dec 31, 2008 9:37 PM CST reply actions

I don’t know, but I bet we didn’t have the cash to match UT, considering how much he demands and how much we have to pay Miles and the new DC

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:39 PM CST up reply actions

GT's 1st & 2nd down plays

a beaten offense against a defense with a chip on its shoulder.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:38 PM CST reply actions

getting worse

Griesie is mispronouncing more and more. He must have had that glass refilled. More gin, less tonic.

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:40 PM CST reply actions

wonder what jack arute is doing?

by 15henson on Dec 31, 2008 9:43 PM CST reply actions

Can't wait to call my brother-in-law

He’s a GT alum. This is gonna be great.

by LSUnerd on Dec 31, 2008 9:43 PM CST reply actions

No whining

I don’t want to hear GT fans complaining about us being buttheads, trying to run up the score with bombs and a fake punt after the game was out of hand. They called time out? WTF?

by uberschuck on Dec 31, 2008 9:46 PM CST reply actions

warms my heart to see that look on paul johnson’s face

What thread are you on tomorrow. Show the Big Ten that they really don’t want to play a SEC team.

Go, dawgs!

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 9:47 PM CST reply actions

Uberschuck,

Thanks for the conversations tonight. Can’t watch a game like this by yourself without blowing a gasket. Look forward to the spring and the 09 season. Tonight was a great view of what LSU football will be again.

by lawildbull on Dec 31, 2008 9:50 PM CST reply actions

THANK YOU!!!

It doesn’t neutralize my Bulldogs’ loss to the North Avenue Trade School, but it will dampen at least a little bit their urge to bug me endlessly. Not beating Tech is not nearly as bad as Tech winning. That may not make sense to many, but those who understand rivalries like this will understand. Keeping them to 9 wins while we still have a chance to get 10 (over a Big 10 school, incidentally) is a big deal. And for that, I am forever grateful to LSU.

By the way, how ’bout them ’Dores?!
