Blogger Q&A with a Ga Tech Fan
Hello there LSU Tiger fans and readers of And the Valley Shook. Jaxon here from SBN's Carolina Panthers blog. Since SBN no longer has a GT blogger I thought I would step in since I am a GT grad and diehard fan of all things GT. And I mean diehard. Football, basketball, baseball you name it. And I have been doing it a while having graduated in...dare I say it...1988. Geez I suddenly feel old experienced.
So we have a great match-up tonight that I can't wait to see. My aplogies for not getting this up earlier but I will be monitoring this thread till about 3-4pm today maybe tonight during the game if I can get a connection in Garden City, SC (that's were I'm headed).
So does anyone have any questions about Tech? Obviously the triple option has to be a concern. We ran it down the Bulldogs throat a few weeks back and it was GLORIOUS! They were up 18 at the half and I'm sure they were partying in the locker room. But I digress. A defense has to stay on their assignements every play or it will be trouble. On a side note, all of our offensive starters we field tonight will return next year, not a single senior (or Junior that would jump).
The Tech defense is no slouch either. We have 4 NFL prospects on the line led by DE Michael Johnson a sure 1st round pick in April. The two DT's are seniors but the best one might be sophomore DE Derrick Morgan. Our linebackers are young and lacking from years past but we have one of the best safeties in the country in Morgan Burnett. He is tied for the nation lead in INT's with 6 or 7 I think.
I'll stop now. Any questions?

you were too late to the game i think...
do you think Johnson will try to tweak his offense at all in the off-season? Or do you think LSU just played a really good game?

I hope he tweaks it with more passing
but Nesbitt isn’t much of a passer. Sorry we didn’t give you much of a game. You guys came to play and we were flat from the opening kick-off that went out of bounds. How LSU lost 5 games is beyond me, you looked stout up front on both sides of the ball. Nesbitt didn’t run the option very well but I’m sure your defense had something to do with that.
Special teams obviously let us down big time. You can’t turn over the ball that deep and expect to win. Not to take anything away from LSU, you played very well. I could venture the DB that broke up the Tech TD pass in the endzone set the tone for the game. Very nice play.
Most disappointing for me was how our d-line just got run over by your offense and that Brandon Jacobs-clone RB you got.
On the flip side you won’t find any Tech people feeling worry for LSU in the future if another teams runs up the score on you. Going for it on 4th down at the goal line and throwing deep with a 35 point lead is not very sportsmanlike. I’m sure Miles has his reasons but it smelled of UGA in my view.
Regardless it was an impressive performance by LSU. Congrats.

We've got several big time recievers to impress in recruiting.
Had nothing to do with sportsmanship.
Play some defense.

The late throwing puzzled me a bit, too.
Perhaps it was to give JJ more game experience, but I agree it was a bit much at that point of the game. And I don’t know what to tell you about the second fake punt.
This whole season, it’s been unexplainable what goes on in Miles’ head, and I mean the good and bad.

Oh yeah, forgot the 2nd fake punt
It was like Miles said “Here’s how you run a fake”. Tech’s was atrocious. Why give it to a DE 7 yds from the 1st? He was soooo slow.
