While everyone recalls the baseball that hit Landry in the face, many fans may not know what happened to the ball being used during the final out Monday. First baseman Buzzy Haydel caught a throw from pitcher Anthony Ranaudo for the last out in the ninth. As soon as he caught the ball, Haydel put it in his back pocket. Haydel has plans for that baseball, the last one used in a game at Alex Box Stadium. "That baseball belongs in LSU's Hall of Fame," said Haydel before Wednesday's practice. "I am bringing it to (LSU Athletics Director) Skip (Bertman) tomorrow. There was no question if I was in there and got the last out, I was keeping the baseball."
