Pitching

Well, we went with Bradford, who threw 6 2/3 innings on Tuesday. Great double play to start. North Carolina stuck with Harvey and I’m sure they’ll have White ready if they need him.

Wow

Bradford looks sharp. Looks like Mainieri may have made the right move today by going with him. Of course time will tell and you’d imagine he’ll be on a pretty strict pitch count. I wonder if Coleman will be available after pitching both on Saturday and Tuesday. In an elimination game, he should be. Always worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

What a performance

It’s the end of the fifth and I assume Bradford’s night is done. He’s thrown in the ballpark of 50 pitches. You couldn’t have asked for anything more than what he did today after tossing 100 pitches just three days ago. if LSU win’s tonight, it will be largely because of No 27. Kudos Jared!

Ugh ...

More rain. That’s the worst thing that could have happened. If this game goes til tomorrow, we definitely see White.

We're back

and another base-running mistake by LSU. The Tigers performance on the bases in the CWS is bordering on the rediculous.

Seriously?

Jared Mitchell has reached by error more than anyone I’ve ever seen this College World Series. There’s something to be said for speed putting pressure on a defense.

Carolina isn’t taking any chances. One runner on after tapping a ball to the pitcher and they’re going to White. If it goes to extra innings, he could pitch into the 14th or 15th.

Is LSU out of magic?

Bottom of the 8th, bases loaded, one out. Plate one, let Coleman end it. Then DJ gets a tailor-made ball for a sac fly at least and pops it up. Landry follows by tapping out to third. Only bad things can happen if White settles in. Of course if either team is going to win it with one swing, its going to be LSU. The nerves are killing me. Thank goodness for Abita Amber.

To answer the question, yes.

I’m gonna need something stronger than Abita now. Jager anyone?

Dang

I was really hoping for an all-S.E.C. final.

Congratulations on an outstanding season. I’m just sorry it ended as early as it did.

Go 'Dawgs!
