It's over and we're going back to Omaha!!!!! So, who's the MVP? The winner will probably be Blake Dean because he's the sexy choice after taking the honor at the SEC Tournament and Baton Rouge Regional. But I'm going with Ryan Schmipf, who was 8-for-13 with 4 2B, 3B, HR, 6 RBI and ripped the double in the ninth on Sunday that really got things going. Who do you think? Leave a comment and back it up.

It's impossible to argue with Dean as MVP of the game

But Mitchell’s been great all weekend. He’s hit. He’s played defense. He’s walked. With a tough choice to make, I choose Mitchell.

How about Louis Coleman though? His lights out pitching last night gave us this chance.

I can’t argue with Coleman and he would definitely be my LSU pitching MVP of the weekend. But, I think it takes more than three innings on the hill, no matter how stellar they were.

Mitchell’s catch on Sunday weighs heavily in my mind. If he doesn’t make that, who knows what happens in the ninth.

I had the exact same thought about Coleman.

And I also like Schimpf.

And actually I think Landry’s defense and a picked up offense significantly contributed to the Saturday win.

But I’m going with Dean for two reasons. He was perfect (5/5) and he’s been an absolute stud through the stretch.

Mitchell

He was the catalyst all weekend. Whenever there was a big play, Mitchell seemed to be involved. Big catches, big hits, and coolest of all, an RBI walk. In Game 2, for a while he seemed like the only guy who never got discouraged. And then he keyed the beginning of the comeback.
