Should Brandon Lafell knock anyone silly in this game, it should be discussed here.

Not the start we wanted

kickoff coverage had been great so far this year, but we got gashed there. Defense held to a field goal.

Charles Scott is a beast

Prediction 125 yards tonight.

by The Bengal on Sep 27, 2008 6:42 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, we had to get that flag

it was an obvious face mask. Nice little throw to a wide open man

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 6:43 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

not scott's type of run

we need to get it to him going forward. He’s not a change of direction guy

Let Your Eyes Move

lee still is locking in on one receiver…

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 6:46 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

To be fair

that was a called screen. No need to take your eyes off him. It didn’t look like it was designed well, I think.

Good job tyson...

and good job tyson again

Whoa!

Trindon caught a forward pass!

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 6:58 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

That should stretch the D

And they start pounding Scott up the middle after that

by The Bengal on Sep 27, 2008 6:59 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

My problem with that scott run is..

We put the TE in motion and set him up to where he was covered up by a receiver. We run the ball 100% of the time from that formation. They’ll eventually figure that out and stop it.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 6:59 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I love scott as a running back

He’s playing great this year.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:00 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Thank you, Herman

Lee should have thrown that away a lot quicker

by The Bengal on Sep 27, 2008 7:03 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

he IS a freshman..

mistakes will happen.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:04 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

That play won't be overturned

It obviously went backwards.. he’s calling timeout to figure out how to get 35 yards in two plays.

Hint: Lafell

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:04 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

It doesn't matter if the arm was moving forward..

the ball was moving backwards, and that’s all that matters in that situation

Psychic

You’re scaring me.

Bama up early

Must be happy times in your house right now, Richard.

Is she cheering for Georgia

’cause that would be too funny for words

Nice move, Lafell

Bama 7 GA 0

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 7:11 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Our DL is better this year than last year

the way we’re trusting our depth this year is making all the difference in the world.. and RJF is almost as good as Dorsey.

Plus

charles alexander being relatively healthy is a big plus.. we missed him a lot more than people realized

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:16 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I had a horrible flashback on that pass to Williams Could have been another pick 6

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 7:27 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Going for it is the right thing

Even if it’s unsuccessful, it pins them back.

Not gambling….TD

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 7:31 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

That's not a gamble at all...

The downside is, you don’t make it, and put MSU on their own 1 yard line. You really should go for it every time under those circumstances if there’s time on the clock, unless you REALLY need 3 points.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:34 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Glad we have nine defensive linemen, but still need Ricky and Alexander

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 7:37 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Anyone notice brandon taylor on punt return team

I think he was blocking a gunner

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:38 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Dickson wasn't ready

hard to tell if it was lee’s fault or dickson’s fault

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:42 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

MSU is hardly trying to run the ball

only 5 designed runs, and about 10 designed passes.. not really a standard MSU type game

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:44 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Not sure what’s happening. Is Georgia really that bad or is Bama really that good?

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 7:44 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Mrs. ATVS says

Georgia is killing themselves with penalties and turnovers.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:46 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

That's what we get for giving the ball to the fullback so much..

It worked out against Auburn, but Quinn’s more linebacker than running back

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:47 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

That was just Quinn's first touch this game wasn't it?

And the State player got his helmet right on the ball

by The Bengal on Sep 27, 2008 7:49 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

that fumble really hurt

MSU is back in this one

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 7:51 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I meant LSU, not Miss State

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 7:56 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Started weak.. ending weak

Good in the middle. It looked like we were going to blow them out. Now I’ll be happy to go into the half with the lead.

Just checked out DawgSports

Only two comments on their open game thread. Looks like they’re in shock over there.

2d Half Team?

Shouldn’t come to that…

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 7:59 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

If we don't give them short fields

they don’t score..

We just need to calm down and do what we do best.

Richard Pittman

3 top 10 teams have lost

one other is losing badly. #12 Penn STate is tied. We’re getting a scare so far.. what a week.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 8:08 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

If everything stays like it is..

7 upsets in the top 25 this week.. one other top 25 team is tied in 2nd quarter.. and we aren’t out of the woods..

Just a mental lapse

he wasn’t holding on to it right.. I see him carrying around a football this week.

Georgia finally scores.

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 8:34 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I don't like the handoff to scott from the shotgun

it doesn’t play to his strength. It got the 1st though.

Lafell is awesome..

just hang on to it.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 8:38 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I predicted 125

He should get that in garbage time

by The Bengal on Sep 27, 2008 8:40 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

If we score here

I don’t think I’d play him again

Richard Pittman

Time for D to stiffen

Don’t give them any hope.

gotta give credit

Tyson Lee looks good this drive

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 8:52 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

this is torture

Answer: almost 8 minutes

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:02 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

yeah...except

how do we let this team run 18 plays and score…have we went to prevent defense

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 9:05 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

they did a good job of taking what we were giving them

pass to the flats.. short passes in front of us.. they executed well. We tried a bend-but-don’t-break defense, and they just never made that big mistake you wait for in those situations.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:07 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

The thing is

when you’re up by 3 scores, giving up a 9 minute touchdown drive is not the worst thing in the world. One more of those, and this game is over.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:05 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Dr. ATVS prescribes

A combination dose of Charles Scott and Brandon Lafell

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:08 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

For some reason

we don’t seem to block as well for Murphy

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:11 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Scoring quickly is not MSU's thing

If this was Florida, I’d be really worried.

We aren’t playing great, but I think we have this game in hand

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:18 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Concur but need some style points.

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 9:19 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks for putting it in perspective.

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 9:27 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Auburn's D didn't allow a point

their offense gave up that safety.. We’ve given up an infinitely more than Auburn did, muliplication-wise

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:35 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, the offense is playing fine

The question is what happened to our defense. We should not have given up that big drive..

The other points for MSU were on short fields.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:29 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

We haven’t been puting pressure on the QB…he has all day

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 9:30 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

It's over.

It could end up being 34 – 31, but it’s over. The clock rules just don’t allow enough plays for them to come back.

by The Bengal on Sep 27, 2008 9:37 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

If we get this

Put it in jefferson’s hands

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:37 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Once again

Lafell is awesome

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Sep 27, 2008 9:37 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Sloppy game from the defensive perspective…however, we are still undefeated and Scott is still piling up yardage.

Thanks again, Richard, for providing a place for us to vent, celebrate, or just try to maintain sanity. To the rest of the crew…until Florida,… Geaux Tigers!

by lawildbull on Sep 27, 2008 9:42 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

And it's a wrap.

No Crooming this week. Nice to have a bye week before Florida.
