Florida Gators @ LSU Tigers: Game Thread!

Florida Gators at LSU Tigers, Oct 10, 2009 7:00 PM CDT

Flood_medium

This is quickly becoming the season of rain.  It seems like every one of our games has been affected by wet conditions, and today is supposed to be no different.  If you happened to be present at Noah's Flood, please give us your remembrances, and be sure to let us know how the koalas got back to Australia.

Geaux Tigers!

Really nervous about this one. My dad is calling me talking about how ‘they’ (not sure who that is exactly) are trying to jinx us by talking about how we never lose Sat nights at home.

yeah, i know the feeling

Last weekend, I rode to the UGA game w/ a guy who must have said the following 15 times.

“UGA has never beaten LSU 4 consecutive times. They have beaten us 3 consecutive times 3 different times, but never 4 in a row. History will win out for us today.”

It wasn’t exactly inspiring, but it bore out.

OK, so...

Florida can run the ball against us. They marched down the field. We, on the other hand, scraped out a few yards and couldn’t convert on 3rd and 2. Let’s see how we answer. Florida will be satisfied in the 1st quarter feeling us out, getting 3’s here and there, and at some point in the 2nd, they will start turning those 3’s into 7’s UNLESS we adjust. Thing is, they adjust as well as any team in the country.

not on gameday..

but one of the pregame’s Lou Holtz said LSU were “great open field tacklers.” Wonder what game he was watching

Here's hoping we tackle.

by Cameron Dodd on Oct 10, 2009 8:34 PM CDT up reply actions

HALFTIME STATS:

UF / LSU

1st Downs 12 / 7
3rd down efficiency 2-4 / 1-5
4th down efficiency 0-1 / 1-1
Total Yards 176 / 118
Passing 62 / 56
Comp-Att 4-6 / 6-8
Yards per pass 10.3 / 7.0
Rushing 114 / 62
Rushing Attempts 22 / 17
Yards per rush 5.2 / 3.6
Penalties 3-30 / 5-34
Turnovers 0 / 1
Fumbles lost 0 / 0
Interceptions thrown 0 / 1
Possession 16:40 / 13:10

Pretty even stat-wise. Have a feeling that UF has been playing to see what they can exploit in the 2nd half, tho. Also, they’re running the ball nearly at will, which is always a bad sign.

by CFB on Oct 10, 2009 8:35 PM CDT reply actions

by Cameron Dodd on Oct 10, 2009 8:39 PM CDT up reply actions

Did you know that football is the only sport where you can score and then get the ball back, due to halftime? Other than baseball, where you keep batting after you score and basketball and soccer, where getting the ball after half doesn’t depend on scoring. And hockey and lacrosse and any other sport that has “face off” type things.

It is also possible that some folks want to look for the worst in everything so they will not be disappointed later.

It has been said that most things we worry about never happen and of those that do happen, most we cannot influence. Therefore, it makes more sense to this old man to live in the positive vein and only become disappointed when, and if, the worst actually happens..

Thats like saying...

Michael Vick is a special player…He’s average passing, at best, and is over-sized for a quarterback. He can run it, only because of the players he’s surrounded by. He’s an average quarterback, maybe slightly above, placed on a team with exceptional players. His ability to succeed rests solely on those around him, not him.

Since you have decided to use this football blog to attack God...

… I will be happy to tell you how the koalas and kangaroos ‘made it back to Australia’, assuming they originated there. You see those big islands of New Guinea? And all those thousands of islands that make up Polynesia? Well, you may not believe this, but 4,000 years ago, they acutally constituted a LAND BRIDGE between the continents of Asia and Australia. There has been a lot of earthquakes since then, many are recorded in ancient Chinese scrolls and even among the legends of the Aborigines of Australia. This area is stll, if you’ve read the news lately, being rocked on an almost daily basis.

Likewise, it is generally accepted even among your atheist friends, that Asia and N. America were also long ago connected by a land bridge across what is now the Bering Strait.

What you may find hard to believe, but is also true, is that nearly every civilization that existed after that time, those who had no known contact whatsoever, all have a written record or oral legend of a worldwide flood.

Now that I have taken the time to explain this to you, perhaps you could tell me why you hate God and why you have decided to use a football blog to vent your hatred and promote your athiestic agenda?
