SEC will suspend, fine coaches who complain about league officials - ESPN
Maybe the SEC should just consider hiring better officials.

Or perhaps...
Coaches who wear an obscene orange color should learn the rules before they open their mouth. The referees who drew the controversy have drawn a stiff punishment. The situation is over. In the meantime, there are quality controls in place, and I think Commissioner Slive is not only well within his rights to take this unusual step, but is actually right to do so. The proper way to address this is to behave as gentlemen, use the proper reporting methods to address the problem, and not use the referees as an excuse for poor coaching. Lane Kiffin’s comment about the reprimand being a worthless piece of paper did not help matters any either. In the real world, that’s called “insubordination”, and it’s an excellent way to draw the ire of one’s boss or other form of superior.

Insubordination, however..
assumes he is a subordinate. I’m not so sure he is a subordinate of Mike Slive or the SEC office. What rule-making powers does the SEC have? What enforcement powers?
The fact is that refereeing in the SEC is bad. It’s been bad for years. Now coaches are starting to complain about it, and the SEC’s response is to punish the coaches and discipline the referees. But other than suspending and firing referees, there seems to be nothing in place that will actually MAKE THE REFS BETTER.
Personally, I think it’s perfectly legitimate for a coach to criticize referees in public, especially when the coach is right. A lot of games have been impacted by key poor calls in big situations this year, and you don’t have to be on the wrong side of one of those calls to see it.

I've looked at all eight of the penalties against TN...
And not only were they all textbook cases, there were plenty of no-calls that went their way. Lane Kiffin PMS’ing is not cool when there’s absolutely no basis in fact. As for SEC’s officiating, if you want to see truly bad officiating, watch a close Pac-10 game and then get back to me. SEC has overall decent to good officiating.

I'd love to see
Slive really stand there and justify suspending a coach for this. If I were a league coach I’d dare him to do it.

We'll see...
The next time Lame Kitten has to explain yet another loss to his Volun-tears base, and like “Birthers” demanding to see even more evidence of President Obama’s citizenship, they won’t buy any evidence that contradicts their world view. I will laugh hard enough to be heard in Baton Rouge all the way from my home on the Alabama Gulf Coast when that happens.
