Friday Writer's Block
My job in this little group of writers is to make sure something gets posted every day. Even if it isn't very good. Some days, writer's block hits. It's hard to believe that here we are about 36 hours from game time against the #1 team in the country and I am unable to get any inspiration from consulting the office monolith, but there you go. Feel free to peruse and read any of our previous columns, or perhaps take a look at the FanShots over to the right.

I think you guys did a good job of covering the game this week
There is really not alot more to talk about. One thing I saw noted in some other places is all of Florida’s opponents in 2009 only Troy has a winning record. For better of for worse, LSU has been in toughly contested games against a couple of solid teams (Wash, Georgia) and one not so solid team (MSU). Hopefully that will give us a competitive advantage in this game if it is close.
Not sure what the value of that stat is since only one of LSU's oponnents has a winning record too.
2-3 (Wash)
2-3 (Vandy)
2-2 (ULL)
2-3 (State)
3-2 (UGA)
11-13 for a 45.8 win %
You are right
I guess the teams records are pretty meaningless right now. Its hard to evaluate how good the competition is until the season is over strictly on the basis of win-loss records until the season is over. I hope the fact we have paid in some close one helps us was all I was saying.
I hope we can slow down their Microbacks...
Those guys are the keys to the game for UF. If we can keep them contained, then I will feel much better about our chances.
On another note, do you guys think Miles opens up the game w/ an aggressive attack, or do you think he will try to establish a running game up the middle w/ more conservative play calling?
I think they'll start out trying to establish the running game
if for no other reason than to see if the line can open holes for Scott. That said, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a play action bomb to Toliver as the first play just to open things up a little bit.
CHAD JONES! WOOOO!!!!
Admit it, Richard
You put up the FUNky fanpost just to distract us from the lack of late week content. Great 14 year old internet tough guy imitation!
CHAD JONES! WOOOO!!!!
tickets
I have enjoyed your coverage this week. It really adds a new level of enjoyment of game week for me. The only hot button item i have not seen discussed anywhere is a huge problem in my opinion: the crazy price to get into a game these days. I went to lawschool at LSU and even just a few short years ago, finding tickets was very easy. I guess that’s the price of success, but it’s infuriating that I have to give away one of my kids or take out a second mortgage to go to the premier games on our schedule. The bigger problem is I believe it has changed the crowd. I’m sure it will be plenty loud tomorrow night, but I have not experienced the same crazy, loud crowd at most games in the past few years, and in my opinion that is linked to the fact that the people who can afford to pay 500 bucks a ticket are more inclined to sit on their a$$ than yell for the Tigers… sorry for the rant.
Maybe this is the one drawback of having a mature, reasoned blog
If you get in flame wars you’ll have plenty of comments. Also, most blogs spend their Fridays doing picks of the week. With the strict prohibition on predictions around here that’s out the window.
One thing I’ll note that hasn’t really been discussed is how the media attention 100% on Tebow’s will-he-or-won’t-he has taken a lot of heat off of our guys this week. The spotlight is turned elsewhere, so to speak.
