ATVS Poll

LSU does have another game this week, and with Charles Scott's injury, I had a thought regarding it.

Note: I left Trindon Holiday off the list on purpose because the reality is he's a gimmick back, not one who's going to get the kind of carries we're talking about here.

Poll
Which running back should get the lead share of the carries this week?
Keiland Williams -- he's a senior who has earned his opportunity
125 votes
Stevan Ridley -- he's had nice runs in each of the last two games and we need to find out if he's a viable option for 2010
117 votes
Russell Shepard -- he's clearly the most explosive runner on the team
25 votes
Michael Ford -- the coaches should break his redshirt and find out what he can do

I think..

it should be Keiland. Keiland could be huge for us if he can be productive to the tune of having 20 carries a game. Although I don’t think Ridley should be far off of that pace.

I'm a little surprised Shepard's not getting more votes.

Personally, I’d probably go with Ridley, but I understand the Keiland argument as well. I just want to see which way the wind blows on this one.

Best to know now...

Keiland deserves his shot. It’s best to know now whether he can carry the mail for us the final 3 games. If he’s not the one then Ridley, then Shepard. These two will have plenty of opportunities next year. Keep the Redshirt on Ford.

I like the combo

of Williams and Ridley with a little Shepard thrown in the mix. And hey, how ‘bout letting Shep run the dang option instead of Jefferson. And don’t tell me he can’t do it, because by doing so you’re trying to tell me Jefferson can. Option with Shep and Holliday!

By the way…did it totally surprise everyone else when they trotted Ridley out there when we had goal to go after Scott got hurt? Can you imagine the riot if he would have fumbled or got strung out trying to bounce it outside?

I kind of think

We know what we have from Williams at this point. Which is why I’d like to see Ridley.

He hasn't..

exactly received much PT this season. I say give him a fair shake in this upcoming Tech game and his performance will determine his role going forward.

He hasn't earned anymore than he's gotten really

I think I’d rather work Ridley more against a team like Tech because chances are he’ll be needed more in the final two games.

But..
he’s a senior who has earned his opportunity
