Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Continues Rampage, New York Wins On Road

Oh, by the way, we have a Basketball team. LSU 82 ULM 62.

LSU won a comfortable game over ULM, 82-62.  The Tigers got a big lead at the start, and the game was never in doubt.

Bo Spencer is our Shooting Guard, and Chris Bass is our Point Guard.  Bo played for 38 minutes.  Bass played for 31.

Bo knows scoring.  Today, he flashed an interior run-it-in-there-and-score game to add to his perimeter game.  Bo looks like he's taking the challenge of replacing Marcus Thornton head-on, and that's what you want to see.

Storm Warren has stepped up as a basketball player.  15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks.  If he continues progressing, we'll be great.

Centers Garrett Green and Dennis Harris played equal minutes (well, Green got 16 and Harris 17, but that's not that different).  Harris is the better scorer, nabbing 9 points and 4 rebounds.  Green doesn't look 100 percent back from the injury, but he's the better defender.  Green actually looked better during the second half than during the first, and he managed to get two steals.  Neither center blocked a shot.

Zach Kinsley got 12 minutes today, which should tell you how much we're counting on him.  He doesn't look like an inadequate athlete, but he definitely needs to make more shots.  1-6 from the field just isn't enough.

Neither of the freshman wowed me.  Aaron Dotson got 18 minutes and finished with 6 points, while Eddie Ludwig got 8 minutes and 2 points.

As a team, we were just 5-21 from behind the arc.  Bo Spencer had a great game, but he can certainly improve on his 3-12 mark.

I feel better about this team than I did before.  This team may lack depth, but it does not lack talent.  It's a well-coached team that's only going to get better as the season progresses.

The new Maravich Maniacs shirts have a 6 on the front, which implies that we need to be the sixth man.  Let's do it.

Good game, Tigers.

Excellent Start!

This is the season preview I wrote for Bleacher Report: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/289106-trent-johnsons-lsu-tigers-look-to-bright-future-what-about-this-year

I think running Bass at the point and Bo at the 2 spot is great!

GEAUX TIGERS!!!
