Les
I am as mad and upset as anyone here and I think that the way that Les handled the whole game today was simply awful. As the head coach he is responsible for having the players ready to go and clearly that wasn't the case today. Jefferson seemed afraid to run all game, for whatever reason we again did not run the ball enough and the D which has been lightyears better this season was just not on top of their game all day. All of these are failings of the Head Coach and I am unsure of what happened to the man we used to say "fear the hat". My best guess is last seasons debacle has made him coach a little more conservatively with the hope being that less asked will translate into less mistakes. I am not ready to call for Les' head but if we don't play better next week I think we have to start asking ourselves if it's time for him to go.
One thing I am sure of is Gary Crowton's time at LSU should be done. For the better part of the last 2 seasons and even our Title season we seem to ignore our strengths and just start doing wacky crazy things. Today was perfect example on the ,I think, last drive before the end of the 3rd maybe we had a pretty good drive going and then we tried a double fake reverse play action and we of course didn't make it. Jefferson was sacked after waiting too long to get rid of the ball, we had a great drive going using short passing and the run game and instead of staying with it we try to outsmart everyone and only outsmart ourselves. So for me I fire Gary Crowton on the plane ride home but realistically we will probably have to wait till at least the end of the regular season.
I give Les next week to start to right the ship and see what happens after that.

I think you are WRONG!!
You must remember that Gary Crowton is hand picked by Miles. Miles has been riding the shirt tail of Saban until this year. The players and coaching staff of today belong to Miles. And it SHOWS! LSU will lose many recruits because of the Ole Miss game and our losing season. Michigan presents a perfect opportunity for Miles to depart. LSU needs to spend the bucks to hire a BIG TIME consultant to find another Saban type coach, FAST! We are in for a long road of losing games if we continue with Miles at the helm. The fans of LSU and the players deserve the respect that we have learned to love so recently!
You people and this Saban coat tail argument
ARE JUST CRAZY – HE WON an NC Three freaking years after Saban was gone!
Saban left, Miles didn’t make him and Saban aint coming back – get over it!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
As I recall...
We were a two loss team in ‘07. We were lucky to get the chance to play in it to begin with. Good thing it was against Ohio State or things could have gone differently. Wait until this weekend. You’re think you’re unhappy now, just wait to see what happens if the Hogs beat us in our house. Oh Brother.
What is wrong with you?
Why the crap are you trying to discredit our own National Championship? Do you mind telling me the two teams that should’ve gone ahead of us? We were the best team in the country that year.
Sorry...
I’m as happy as the next person that we were National Champs in ‘07. We were the best team in the nation that year. I think there were one or two other 2 loss teams that felt they were entitled to a shot, UGA for one. I’m Old School, old, old, old school. Ole Miss was our biggest rival. I was just lashing out. I got over the FL and AL losses this year by the next day. This one will be with me for a while.
