One thing you can’t complain about was the effort.
Sure, there were iffy plays, iffy play calls, not enough yards at times and too many yards allowed at others during a 9-3 season that will see the Tigers go to a nice bowl game sometime in early 2010.
But LSU never quit this season. Not during the struggles against Florida and Alabama. Not in last week’s disastrous finish at Ole Miss. And certainly not in Saturday night’s 33-30 thrilling overtime victory over Arkansas in the regular-season finale at Tiger Stadium.

It’s not a pretty win. The future is undecided. But I love how our team regrouped following the Ole Miss loss. I love how Miles managed the clock better.
I posted earlier that I wanted the Tigers to take the Ole Miss disaster as a learning experience. If today is any indication, Les and the Tigers used that experience to beat Arkansas. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
People have a right to be unhappy. That’s their problem.

As I stated in a post last week,
“Miles accepted responsibility, admitted mistakes, and stated he had learned from the experience. Those are the same things I tried to teach my sons when they were growing up. I am proud of the men they have become. How much more could I ask for in a coach?”
There were definitely times last night when I was less than pleased with the play, but in the final analysis, Miles had done as I asked, “learned from mistakes”.
I look forward to a New Years bowl game for the Tigers. I will then turn my thoughts to what changes will be made in the off season to make the LSU Tigers even better nedxt year.

Question about the Uniformss...
So, I read somewhere that the Nike Pro Combat Unis were made to breathe easier and had new “technology” in them and whatnot.
Is this akin to what we saw in the China summer Olympics where swimming records were being smashed due to new swimsuit technology?
Will these be the norm for now on for schools with Nike Unis? (Not the color changes, just the base uni design)
Any comments from the players wearing them?

From
what I remember reading; yes, the sweat wicking (?) designs will be used from here on out. I believe they will be in use by all Nike sponsored football programs; not just the Universities that signed on for the aesthetic changes. I don’t have the link on hand but I’m fairly sure that was the gist of it.

Uniforms....
My wife liked ‘em. She liked the real gold hats. I just don’t know.

Uniforms
I went to LSU before most of you were born, so I know about tradition. For me, I loved the helmets. The “old gold” was great. The rest of the uniform, as far as the color and placement of the strips, sucked. All white sucks. Did I mention I loved the helmets?

I like all white.
I wish we had all white Uni’s with our regular gold helmet.
Like this photoshopped pic.

I’d take the white or gold helmet.

Correction...
Those all white uniforms don’t look so bad. Maybe it’s the pant strips and the shoulder strips. Those on Saturday were horrible. Maybe you need the white helmet to make it more appealing. Either way I still like that “old gold” helmet.

I still didn't care for any of it.
But, since we won, I’ll say it didn’t look that bad!

Me too..
I loved the uniforms. They looked a lot better in action than I previously thought they would, and I actually wouldn’t mind seeing them again. That being said there are few uniforms in the pantheon of football that can compare with our regulars.

I didn't hate the uniforms
and I thought the ‘old gold’ was cool but I just like the ‘real gold’ that we have worn my whole life. It makes us unique I love when people ask me why we say Purple and Gold when the color is yellow. That’s just how we geaux!
If someone knows when and why we made the change back in the day I’d like to know but I like our tradition (and uniforms) as is.
