Tiger Fans leaving games early
LSU Fans Leaving games early
I have been an LSU fan my whole life and the last few years at games I have noticed lots of fans leaving in the middle of the 3rd quarter whether it is a close game or a rout. I was just wondering where they had to be and if they know how that looks to the current players and the recruits on the sidelines. If they don' t want to stay the whole game they need to give the tickets to someone who does. It has been bothering me and I just wanted to tell someone who could get the word out. Thank you Billy Davis

It was embarrassing
We got called out during the Arkansas game and deserved it. The “crazy” reputation of our fanbase is right now supported by nothing but reputation. We need to get Tiger Stadium back.
Fake Pundit. Real Fan.

Could not agree more.
There is a pretty significant waiting list for season tickets, so it’s a shame when people don’t fully utilize what they are lucky enough to have. I sure as hell would like to upgrade, and I don’t leave until the team is off the field.
Agreed
Maybe the University should look at the film to determine which season ticket holders are leaving and then send those ungrateful “fans” a letter reminding them that their tickets are a privilege that can can be given to the real fans on the long waiting list.
I am still in shock and more than a little pissed at the lack of respect shown the school and the players.

That would be hilarious
It would make the Ole Miss meltdown look like a coma ward.
CHAD JONES! WOOOO!!!!
You don't suppose
this was some sort of “no confidence” vote on Miles? I had read some things here and there, people mentioning boycotting the game (and not just because of the uniforms), but didn’t put much stock in it. I really thought that even the people calling for Miles’ job would still be behind the team, but I don’t know what to think at this point. I hope my speculation is as crazy as it sounds.
I hope you are wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Its one thing to not like a coach. It’s a completely different thing to disrespect the school and the players.

Valid point
It’s hard to remember, but it seemed like the stadium was less than full at kickoff. The noise level, especially at critical times, seemed to be there (8 or 9 on a scale of 1-10). I just wondered about the early departers as well, were they thinking “Miles is going to blow this” and so on. Again, I really hope not.
Are we sure this happened?
I remember the announcers commenting on it early in the 4th but then right before OT I remember looking at the stands and they looked pretty full. I really think it was just a lot of people out of their seats during the intermission.
can anyone for sure say that it wasn’t a packed house heading into overtime? It certainly looked like it on tv but I already deleted my recording so I can’t double check
I was at the game and remarked that I was surprised people would leave during a close SEC game
so I know people were leaving. I never watched it on tv so I don’t know exactly what shots y’all are talking about. But it wasn’t like the stadium was half full or anything there were still quite a lot of fans.
I was also there
sec 406 represent!
as it got much colder, there were quite a few who left and didnt come back, it wasnt any sort of mass exodus, but i’d say that ~10-15% of the crowd was gone well before the overtime.
Could have been the weather, or it could have been a silent protest, probably a little of both. Honestly, TS hasn’t stayed full for the whole game all year, maybe with the exception of the auburn game.
Either it’s the preconceived notion of trying to beat the traffic (which is truly horrendous, seriously, get it together BRPD. you’ve had 76 years to figure this out) or that current ticket prices have put them in the hands of folks who go to be seen and not to see the game.
For the record
I thought the traffic moved beautifully Saturday night (at least for me). I think it was the fastest this year including the Tulane and LaTech games.
Wait a second.
Did you just mention the words ‘much colder’ in referencing Baton Rouge weather?
Heavens to murgatroyd. Y’all’d (sp?) never leave your SUV in sunny, frigid Happy Valley. Nothing says Football like brushing snow off your seat during pregame.
Probably why us PSU fans always have the red ass.

Even in the student section...
A couple people in front of me left when Arkansas went up on that 4th down TD pass. That was their loss, but it was definitely a vote of no-confidence in Miles. There were also a lot of people going to the tunnels to warm up between periods.
Oh my word
Further perusal of your blog is unearthing additional similarities with ours. I’m gonna be flat out spooked if it turns out we both like to drink.

C'mon, Jtot.
You know that’s only a central Pennsylvania affliction, right?
Just wait for all the Geaux-ers to back me up on this.

Someone who gets to attend games can correct me...
but the student section isn’t the problem. They’re generally there on time and for most of the game. The ones who were bailing out of the Arkansas game were season ticketholders.
And, yes, most Tiger fans like to drink. That’s why we play night games.
CHAD JONES! WOOOO!!!!
I stand corrected, thank Zug.
