New ATVS Policy

Any Bama fan who comes to our comment section and, in his or her very first post, chooses to taunt us, gets banned.  The count is up to 3.  Anyone else want to test the policy?  If the taunt is after your first post, discretion will be exercised.

Bama fans who choose not to taunt are welcome.

Keep it classy, Bammers

For a fanbase so obsessed with “class”, they really have exhibited none. Hell, FLORIDA fans had more manners.

Is it just me

or does LSU, not hate FL as much as everyone else does? I work with a guy from New Orleans, and we get a long great when we talk about our teams…why is this?

We have cause eatchother heartache just as much as any other teams have.

I cant stand Bama,Tenn,UGA, SCarolina, Auborn, FSU, Miami, USC…but LSU is ok for some reason. We both hate Nick Saban, since I am a Dolphins fan.

Love Florida fans, actually

I think it’s because we’re a lot alike. Both schools have a party hard reputation, but we treat tailgaiting and opposing fans the same way. We will yell at you, make fun of you, and taunt you… then give you food and beer. Same with my experience with Florida. I just think both schools realize it’s all in good fun.

Florida fans are gloriously obnoxious, but they can take it as well. Nothing worse than the dish it but can’t take it fans. Florida is sort of a blast.

I have a large degree of respect for UF

and their program. It’s like a respectful rivalry in my eyes.

I just commented on the "Well, that sucks" post.

It was intended to be a taunt, but rather a retort to an argument. I submit myself to your discretion of course, but I assure you I’m no troll.

Also, good game. I had zero bad experiences from your fans and even had the chance to help out a few with directions and what-not. I enjoy the level of competition your team brings to what is a new-found rivalry for me, and I hope we can continue to count on you as a consistent contender for the West – along with us, of course. Roll Tide.

Good policy Richard...

I really hate some of our “fans” that seem to like trolling on other team sites more than they like commenting on RBR about their own team. I read some, but very rarely comment on other team sites. It’s unlikely to change any opinions and I believe in karma. I have no doubt many from our biggest rivals would come to taunt us if we lose. It’s no fun when you’re on that side of the ball.

You had me at "ROLL TIDE"!!!

I don't disagree with the new policy, but wished we could cool it RE: the refs.

We are starting to look like classless crybabies just because we lost. Many of us have agreed that injuries and a lack of fourth quarter offensive production contributed to the loss more than anything else. Let’s act like a team from the upper half of the conference, rather than some Johnny come lately from the lower half.

Any Bama fan...

who comes here to taunt wasn’t watching the same game I saw. LSU gave us all we wanted and then some, and it was only through sheer intestinal fortitude that my Crimson Tide came away with a victory against a very good LSU team that played their guts out.

As for “the call”- in all fairness, putting my rabid Bama fandom aside, it looked like an interception. I think the rationale behind not overturning it was that the video evidence was not incontravertable, and thus faced with even a tiny bit of uncertainty, the default judgement differs to the ruling on the field. That doesn’t change the fact that it looked to many people (myself included) like an interception, but we all have to remember that these officials get paid and trained to do what they do, and they did what they thought was right. It was a tough call to make.

I do not believe, given the way the game was going at that point, that LSU would have won if the play had been ruled an interception…but we could debate that for the rest of the year and still not be able to prove it one way or another.

Bottom line, though, is this: Bama fans are right to be happy with the victory, but should not be taunting. We ALL love our teams and want to see them win every game. We should be keeping in mind that while our Bama hearts were lifted, the Tiger fans just had theirs ripped out. No reason to add insult to injury.

LSU played a hell of a game, is a hell of a team, and while I’ve had run-ins with low class LSU fans in the past, the ones who came up this past weekend to Tuscaloosa were awesome. Every school has low class fans, Bama included…so I hope that you folks aren’t going to judge our fanbase based on the vocal minority who choose to exhibit no class…just as I’m sure you wouldn’t want your fan base judged on those who behave in the same manner.

Losing always sucks, but the willpower that your Tigers showed late in the game, despite being battered, bruised, and exausted, is a testiment to the spirit of the young men wearing the purple and gold. You all have a lot to be proud of, and I am excited to see what the next few years of this rivalry will bring.
Good luck with the rest of your season!

Thanks for your comment

If all Bama fans were as classy as the sentiments you expressed, I might actually be able to pull for Bama in bowl games, LOL.

Kong

Very well said sir.

I was one of the LSU fans that made the journey and my tickets (In the Zone) were actually given to me by an avid Bama fan, his tailgating crew showed me a great time and the vast majority of Tide fans were great. I have been to more road games than I can count and the Tide fans were actually the most hospitable I have encountered, kudos to you all. (exception being that ‘we beat the hell out of you’ crap)

I think the problem is the facelessness of the internet and many of the Tiders on here felt the need to defend their team by defending the call and saying we were pitiful and unable to tie our cleats so why complain…

For the most part ‘our’ (speaking for myself and the majority of what I’ve seen posted) position is that we simply don’t know what would have happened had we gotten the chance to control the ball with 5 minutes down by six, as Patrick Peterson clearly earned. We have not said we ‘would’ have won or that we ‘should’ have won but we ‘could’ have won and should have gotten that chance.

Nonetheless, Bama did what it had to do to win and NOTHING should be taken away from them, your team earned its victory, no doubt – we just hate that the SEC’s officials continue to botch it sooooo badly and we have to have these conversations.

I just hope the dumb shmucks don’t screw up the SECCG, either way.

I have only rooted for Bama one time in my life (v Miami ’92) and it is hard to now because I wanted Miles to get his second NC before Saban but after the fine hospitality in Tuscaloosa I thinking about considering it!

As a Bama fan that was pulling for LSU against Ole Miss...

I still think that banning people for taunting is a little much. That’s part of SEC football. I would’ve expected the same thing if we had lost, although I would expect worse from Tennessee fans.

"So I want everybody to think here for a second, how much does this game mean to you? 'Cause if it means something to you, you can't stand still. You understand? You play fast! You play strong! You go out there and dominate the man you're playing against, and you make his ass quit! That's our trademark! That's our M.O.... as a team! That's what people know us as!" - Coach Nick Saban before the 2008 LSU game.
