44 Second-Half Points: LSU 73 Northwestern State 62

Northwestern State led for most of the game.  They led 35-29 at the half, and the Demons lead reached as large as 13.  LSU, it seemed, was on the verge of disaster.

Enter Tasmin Mitchell.  Taz grabbed 17 points in the second half.  He finished with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Storm Warren double-doubles counter:  5.  Storm had a spectacular day.  21 points on 9 for 11 shooting and 16 rebounds, including a whopping 9 offensive rebounds.

LSU has won all 5 games in which Storm gets a double-double.  Man, if only he was this good last year.

One of the nicest takeaways from the game was the 20 non-Taz-Storm-or-Bo points.  Garrett Green had a solid day, grabbing 5 points on 2-3 shooting and 4 rebounds.  Sure, it's not spectacular, but when the shooter in question was making 14.3% of his shots the day before, it's relieving.  Eddie Ludwig also contributed 5 points and 5 rebounds.  Green added 4 rebounds.

Chris Bass had 4 points on 2-3 shooting, but did most of his damage on the floor, getting 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and a block.  Zach Kinsley proved a good thief as well, getting 3 steals.

And we needed all their contributions because Bo had a down day, getting only 8 points on 3-11 shooting.  Seeing guys other than Taz and Storm step up when a guy is cold is always a welcome sight.  None of the other guys needed to be superstars.  They just needed to contribute, and for the most part, they did.

The only other disappointing player was Aaron Dotson, who only had 2 points on 1-6 shooting, 0-2 from the arc.  Dotson just hasn't been a sharp shooter this season.  Hopefully, his shot will improve over the season.

17- the number of turnovers.  Turnovers have been a team-wide problem this season, and even the good guys are losing the ball too often.  Taz had 5 turnovers.  Chris Bass had 4.  Bo, Green and Dotson had 2 each, and Storm and Kinsley had one apiece.

Going along with turnovers, LSU has also had problems in transition.  If we don't improve our transition game, Kentucky will hang 100 on us.

But it's time to be happy.  Christmas time is here, we're still winning at 5-2, and Storm is a beast.  Geaux Tigers.
