There's some fun conclusions we might be able to draw from this, but let's just enjoy the title for right now. We'll make misinformed value judgments tomorrow.

Just a couple Observations
1. Until today, Jared Mitchell was absolutely putrid at the plate. He was 3 of 17 with 5 walks on the tournament, but 2-for-2 with two walks today. Meaning, before today’s game, he was 1 of 15 with 3 walks. Awful. I realize we saw a whole lot of left handed pitching, but even so he is clearly slumping. We’ll need him to snap out of it. Nice defense though.
2. I realize this is mostly a matter of chance, but Mahtook’s 10 for 22 didn’t really seem to produce a lot of runs. Two runs scored and 3 RBI. It seemed that an inordinate amount of the time he got the only hit of any given inning and didn’t have anyone to knock home and didn’t have anyone drive him in. Plus, I think it bears pointing out that I’m not sure he actually had an extra-base hit in the tournament (but i’m not looking it up).
3. Nola got all three of his hits in one game. I thought he might be rounding into a decent offensive player, but he’s still a liability at the plate. Still, he scored more runs and had as many RBI as Mahtook did.
4. I’m surprised Gibbs’s numbers weren’t better. He seemed to be constantly producing runs. He also hit for really good power, getting a couple doubles.
5. Landry was surprisingly good for us. Full time spot in the lineup? Or is he only going to go against righties?
6. Still can’t say enough good about how our pitching was in this tournament. For all the talk of the starters, our relief pitchers gave up only 2 runs in 7 innings of work. One of those was unearned.
