I Southern had any pitching they would be scary dangerous.

they would also need some defense, it was abysmal

by rabend1 on May 30, 2009 4:28 PM CDT reply actions

Nice showing by Southern..

too bad they couldn’t finish off Minnesota.

Baylor's going with a righty..

interesting (he says with a smirk)

Woo hoo!

Audio and video on GeauxZone…

by Poseur on May 30, 2009 6:07 PM CDT reply actions

A perfectly executed bunt

that doesn’t help us one bit.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 6:36 PM CDT reply actions

Lost opportunity there..

It would have been nice to get some runs in the 3rd

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 6:45 PM CDT reply actions

Both pitchers would do well to realize

the umpire isn’t giving them a friendly strike zone.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 6:48 PM CDT reply actions

Ranaudo = awesome, through 3

faced the minimum, struck out 5.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 6:52 PM CDT reply actions

Hawthorne...

… just jinxed Ranaudo. But Ranaudo is pitching a gem so far. I know there are more praised rotations, but would you trade our 1-2 for anyone else’s?

And now Richard jixed Ranaudo as well.

by Poseur on May 30, 2009 6:53 PM CDT reply actions

It's a pitcher's duel

but we’re going to get to this guy soon.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 6:53 PM CDT reply actions

Now we get the lefty :(

We couldn’t really get to the righty, and now we have the guy they probably should have started all along, and we have our lefties in the lineup.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 7:18 PM CDT reply actions

Strangely enough..

Miller doesn’t really have good stats against lefties, if you believe the Gametracker.. and he’s about to walk Landry

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 7:21 PM CDT up reply actions

And this is why you send a lefty against us..

even our right-handed hitters struggle against lefties, it seems.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 7:30 PM CDT reply actions

We're back into the bullpen..

Let’s get to the righty.

Richard Pittman

Now here in the 8th, down 1, a bunt is a smart call by the Bears. But let’s see if it pays off.

by 4.0 Point Stance on May 30, 2009 8:28 PM CDT reply actions

That bunt actually worked..

and he probably wouldn’t have scored if not for the bunt, unless the batter had gotten a hit of course.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 8:35 PM CDT up reply actions

Alright..

We need to get some hits and runs. And I think we need to get Ott up.

Even if we lose this one, I think we’re in fine shape. Minnesota doesn’t have a lefty, and Baylor is using up ALL of their decent pitchers.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 8:37 PM CDT reply actions

I dunno. I get the feeling Baylor is trying to keep its pitch counts low enough that these guys can go again tomorrow. And the way we’ve swung our bats these last two days doesn’t give me a hell of a lot of confidence that we can even hit rightys

by 4.0 Point Stance on May 30, 2009 8:47 PM CDT up reply actions

I think the first two had about 50 pitches each..

I don’t think you can come back from that without rest. Volz is getting pretty close too.

27 outs; 13 strikeouts

Heck of a game Tony.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 8:56 PM CDT reply actions

Try again!

Guess our bats stayed over in the football facility where the team had to dress.

by lawildbull on May 30, 2009 8:58 PM CDT reply actions

Great Steal

Mitchell looks good again on the base path

by lawildbull on May 30, 2009 9:05 PM CDT reply actions

Holy crap!

What a win. I’m exhausted.

by Poseur on May 30, 2009 9:23 PM CDT reply actions

We outplayed them overall, but couldn't get the timely hit..

which, as you taught me, is mostly random chance.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 9:27 PM CDT up reply actions

Ranaudo

JSN is talking with Ranaudo…extremely nice guy…most complimentary to the fans for their support. Said at times it was louder than the old Alex Box.

See you guys tomorrow if CoxSports decides to carry the game.

by lawildbull on May 30, 2009 9:27 PM CDT reply actions

What does Minnesota have left

We get the 6 PM game…Minnesota has to play the first game against Baylor, then come back against LSU

by lawildbull on May 30, 2009 9:32 PM CDT up reply actions

They've used up 2 starters..

and maybe their closer. They still have pitching. Baylor has used up literally all 5 of the pitchers they used most often during the season. Even if they can string together some guys to beat Minnesota tomorrow, they would only have scrubs to go against us, with Coleman on the mound.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on May 30, 2009 9:56 PM CDT up reply actions

Baylor coach says none of those guys will pitch today, but any and all can pitch on Monday
