Sorry this is late.  I hit a massive traffic jam coming home and got home half an hour later than expected.

Ochinko and Hanover starting..

I think I would have gone with Landry and Helenihi.

Alright.. Owl on second..

let’s get through the inning

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 6:23 PM CDT reply actions

They started a BR kid..

with only 43 ABs on the season. he had no chance.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 6:29 PM CDT reply actions

Ranaudo pitches out the inning, but damage done

time to get those runs back. Ranaudo earned a zero-run inning there.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 6:31 PM CDT reply actions

Strike 3 to Ochinko was a ball

Ojala perfect through 2. We have to stay patient. Don’t give him easy outs.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 6:39 PM CDT reply actions

Good Top 3rd..

Let’s get ’em here.

Ojala isn’t realy throwing tons of strikes, but he’s not waking anyone. Let’s hit him.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 6:49 PM CDT reply actions

Mitchell walked..

let’s get going

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 6:51 PM CDT up reply actions

I can't blame him for running there..

it took a perfect throw to get him.

Nola could have really made up for his error, but his hit just wasn’t enough to do anything. Still though, we’re finally getting something on Ojala.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 6:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Errors killing us.. just killing us

This game should be 0-0. We maybe should be winning.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:06 PM CDT reply actions

Schimpf!?

He’s having one of those games like he had last week.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:17 PM CDT reply actions

Not for long..

At least we got to him and made him throw some pitches. I think we’ll be in the bullpen soon.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Here's hoping

At least we didn’t leave all 3 on base. And Dean would’ve been out at home had he not been held at 3rd.

by GeauxTigers on Jun 5, 2009 7:30 PM CDT up reply actions

It sure looked like it

we’ve been hurt all year by being aggressive on the bases. I’m glad he decided not to send him.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:31 PM CDT up reply actions

Now it's time for Schimpf to do something positive

he’s looked bad in his first two at-bats

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:42 PM CDT reply actions

We're in the bullpen!

too bad it’s a lefty. Schimpf needs to get this guy. He has hit lefties in the past.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:44 PM CDT reply actions

Taylor Wall?

He’s their 3rd starter. He’ll be very tough.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:46 PM CDT up reply actions

Keep it going!!

Wow, two straight hits off the lefty, BY lefties

by GeauxTigers on Jun 5, 2009 7:48 PM CDT reply actions

I think the announcer was right

they should have taken wall out. I dont’ care for the bunt call.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 7:50 PM CDT reply actions

nice inning

Let’s go hold ’em down now

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:03 PM CDT reply actions

Great Job Guys

Watching my grandson pitch in the high school summer league and found out Tigers were behtnd. By the time his game was over (a win) the 4-2 deficit had become a 5-4 advantage. By the time I got to my vehicle, it was a 7-4 advantage. Now home, and will get to see the Tigers win! Great job, guys, in pushing the Tigers into the lead.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:05 PM CDT reply actions

Absolutely

Ranaudo is doing his job. Our bats have come alive and Rice is deep into their bullpen

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:10 PM CDT up reply actions

We need to get 7 out of Ranaudo

and try to get a few more runs.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Long break for Ranaudo

seems to be pitching well though. This Rendon cat is good.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:09 PM CDT reply actions

that was not a sacrifice bunt

he was trying to get a hit.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:10 PM CDT reply actions

We're through 6 innings for Rice..

They really haven’t gotten to Ranaudo.

Mr. Wild Bill, 3 of Rice’s runs were unearned. We gave them the runs with errors. when it was 3-0, it should have been 0-0.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:13 PM CDT reply actions

Went Back Up

and read the thread. That is why I appreciate ATVS. Without a bunch of screaming and shouting like many of the boards, here you can find out what has happened in a rational discussion.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:15 PM CDT up reply actions

It's really amazing how much errors hurt..

Not only did the errors lead to runs, but they led to Ranaudo throwing more pitches, which could lead to more runs later.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:15 PM CDT reply actions

The big problem with Lemahieu as a pro prospect is..

He doesn’t have the range to be a middle infielder at the next level, and he doesn’t have the kind of power you look for in a corner infielder.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:16 PM CDT reply actions

Nice..

Schimpf with another big hit.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:18 PM CDT reply actions

Can't really point to a lot of examples of

LSu running aggressively and actually benefiting from it. The hit-and-run probably meant the difference between the run scoring and runners on 2nd and 3rd instead.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Was thinking the same thing..

Weird name, same area. It’s a possibility.

by Mikeno on Jun 5, 2009 8:25 PM CDT up reply actions

If so, they're probably cousins..

they didn’t go to the same high school. Kind of on opposite sides of teh houston metro area.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:29 PM CDT up reply actions

Rice appears demoralized...

Going so deep into the pen also points up the apparent of their efforts

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:26 PM CDT reply actions

Left out word

Going so deep into the pen also points up the apparent futility of their efforts.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:27 PM CDT up reply actions

Love that stat!

43-0 when leading after 6 innings!

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:29 PM CDT reply actions

Come on Tony..

one more inning and then we can bring in short relief and then Ott. I hope we have someone warming

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:30 PM CDT reply actions

We really need to get Landry back into the outfield..

that dude can play.

and Lemahieu makes a snag!

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:33 PM CDT reply actions

Not only have the bats become alive

The LSU Gymnastics team is on th field making defensive moves…

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:33 PM CDT reply actions

More solid defense!

LeMahieu in on it now, well done

by GeauxTigers on Jun 5, 2009 8:33 PM CDT reply actions

Do you take out Schimpf to put in landry at this point?

He’s a much better defender, but Schimpf’s going to be hitting in the bottom of the 8th

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:42 PM CDT reply actions

By this, I mean that we don’t appear to need the offense as much as we need the defense from here in.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 8:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Oh, that Raising Cane's sign makes me hungry

Can’t wait to get back to for a bit Louisiana next week

by GeauxTigers on Jun 5, 2009 8:50 PM CDT reply actions

Want to get this guy out..

Want Rendon leading off the 9th, not up at the plate trying to cut the lead to 2.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:50 PM CDT reply actions

nevermind..

I thought there would be 2 outs now. Oh well, we still want to get this guy out.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:51 PM CDT up reply actions

Let's get 'im Bert!

Great job for Ranaudo. Don’t be fooled by the 4 runs. He was great.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:53 PM CDT reply actions

That dude can hit

Let’s just get the next guy

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:56 PM CDT reply actions

No real harm done

We’re through their dangerous hitters and they only have 3 outs left.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 8:59 PM CDT reply actions

If we don't score here..

get ott ready and bring him in if a runner gets on.

Richard Pittman

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:03 PM CDT up reply actions

I disagree!

bunting is just a way overused strategy. It’s rarely a good idea to deliberately get out. You only have 27 outs. You should use them very sparingly, and probably never give up any on purpose. It’s also why it’s so frustrating that we’ve had so many runners thrown out. It’s terrible to risk an out to get a single base. It’s even worse to just give up an out for a base. I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting I hate bunting

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:08 PM CDT up reply actions

I must agree with you.

In my grandson’s game tonight, the coach called for a bunt with none on….I almost had a stroke. Chances of bunting your way on are negligable. Why just take the bat out of the hitter’s hand.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 9:12 PM CDT up reply actions

What age?

It’s a little different if it’s, oh.. 9 year olds. Putting the ball in teh field of play is rarely a bad idea.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:12 PM CDT up reply actions

High School Summer League

(Nice way for high school teams to practice/play together after season is over)
.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Like the pad on the score.

Hey, Owls, when it goes against you, it really multiplies.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 9:07 PM CDT reply actions

Still has severa who went 20+ innings on teh season..

They really don’t have a great reliever though. It’s their biggest weakness as a team. Their starters don’t go 7-8 like Ranaudo and Coleman do, and their bullpen is very average.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Hopefully they used up Evers..

it would be nice not to have to go against a lefty reliever again this weekend.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:09 PM CDT reply actions

Rice is looking for 6 or more runs

Tigers are looking for three outs…

Which will happen first?

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 9:20 PM CDT reply actions

Odds are..

we take this one

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:21 PM CDT up reply actions

Alright..

It’s almost over!

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:28 PM CDT reply actions

One more runner..

and bring in ott

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:31 PM CDT reply actions

Not yet,

Looks like we might need those runs added last inning.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 9:31 PM CDT reply actions

Whew!

Not perfect or anything, but good win in that we accomplished wearing out a lot of their arms. Also, good win in that it’s a win, period.

by GeauxTigers on Jun 5, 2009 9:33 PM CDT reply actions

We pretty much guaranteed..

we aren’t seeing a lefty tomorrow. Evers pitched to something like 10 batters and Wall needs to be saved for Sunday.

Richard Pittman

by Richard Pittman on Jun 5, 2009 9:34 PM CDT up reply actions

Now my critters, plus those of my son, want a walk.

By the way, Pittman, I have a son finishing 2d year, Paul N. Hebert… and another son who is a graduate of same.

by lawildbull on Jun 5, 2009 9:34 PM CDT reply actions

So I understand.

To make it even better, the current attorney is engaged to a recent graduate of LSU Law. I will be surrounded by LSU Law graduates.
