Running back Charles Scott got a little caught up in his cliches Friday when talking about how anxious he was for the season opener.
"We want to hit the ground running," Scott said. "We can't wait to get back on the field and hit somebody that ain't wearing purple and gold."
The team colors for LSU's first opponent, the Washington Huskies, are purple and gold, albeit different shades of each.
"Oh, this purple and gold," Scott said, smiling when corrected. "You know what I mean, somebody that's not Kelvin Sheppard or Perry Riley. I'm ready to go."
LSU football news and notes (Aug. 21) - NOLA.com. I love that part of Bull Durham where Crash is teaching Nuke how to use cliches.
