Also, LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette confirmed today that freshman wide receiver Tim Molton left the program.
2theadvocate.com | Sports | LSU to open '10 vs. UNC — Baton Rouge, LA. In an article about LSU finalizing much-rumored plans to open the season, this tidbit is added about Tim Molton leaving. Molton reportedly had a great Spring, then injured his knee and was declared out for the season. I had heard rumors, off and on since he enrolled, that Molton was having various and sundry troubles with the team. Perhaps they were academic troubles. Perhaps they were disciplinary troubles. Perhaps there were other troubles. Maybe he just wasn't happy. Who knows? But this will have a significant impact on the receiver depth in 2010 and beyond.

Better that this happens now
The timing of this is not too bad. It could have happened in the offseason, where it would have been on the front page of ESPN and SI’s college football websites. It could have happened after he had been taking a lot of reps away from someone else. It could have happened after he got in a fight, missed too many classes, or something like that.
That being said, I was excited to see him play after all of the hype he got this off season.

I doubt it. Most people haven’t heard of Molton. Actually, I bet a lot of casual LSU fans haven’t heard of him.
I realize that
but in the off season when the same headlines stay up for a couple of weeks, pretty much any news goes up there.
Ugh...
That’s a hit to the program. But on the brightside we’re playing UNC to open next season in ATL. That should be sweet.
What sucks is the amount of quality recivers that we've missed out on over the last two years.
DeAngelo Benton, DeAndre Brown, Rantavious (SP?) Wooten, and Kenny Bell all had co mmitted at one point or almost did and then chose to sign else where for depth chart reasons or whatever. That doesn’t even count DeBose who some thought we had a shot with.
Maybe the light will go on for guys like Chris Tolliver and Ron Brooks this off season, but regardless, we need to hope that guys like Mike Davis and Justin Hunter are for real. Hopefully Trovon will take notice as well.
There's rumors..
that he is going to end up at UT(Vols). Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? And if so it seems Orgeron is trying to make his mark in Louisiana. He already has our best recruits from the 2011 class strongly considering UT.
