Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Every year, athletic directors and head coaches evaluate their programs, making whatever adjustments are necessary to stay on top of the game. I am personally committed to working with Coach Miles to evaluate and improve all aspects of our football program to keep us strong and competing for championships. LSU had a nice season in 2009 with nine wins and a New Year's Day bowl game. On the other hand, being "nice" is not our annual goal. We intend to contend for - and win - championships at LSU.

MORE RELEVANT THAN EVER

Like many Tiger fans, I was extremely upset with some things that happened this season with the football team. I thought the team should’ve done better, and maybe it would have with better coaching. However, I’ve now had time to sit and reflect on the season. And, I’ve made a 180 degree change in my thinking. A 9-4 record and an appearance in the best bowl, other than BCS Bowls, is something to be proud of as most teams would give anything to do as well. Further, a top 10 recruiting class in the making and the addition of two very good coaches to the coaching staff give me hope for the future. Finally, I’ve put aside my anger towards Les Miles and Gary Crowton. One thing that helped change my mind was watching Nick Saban at a press conference before the National Championship Game. A reporter asked Saban if he was having “fun”, and Saban looked at him as if to say “you’ve got to be crazy.” The message Saban conveyed to me through his body language was that coaching an SEC team is one of the most demanding jobs on this planet. It was at that point that I realized just how much pressure these coaches are under 24/7/365. Sure, they make a lot of money, but I think they earn it (just having to put up with fans like me).

I guess what I’m trying to say is that all the negativity being generated by the fans regarding the LSU football team is not going to do any good. In fact, it could be very harmful to recruiting and keeping coaches, who have given us a great football program the last few years. So, I say at this point let all true Tiger fans make a resolution to support the administration, the coaches, and the players. As LSU fans, we have a lot to do with making the football program a great one and that’s what we ought to strive for all the time. I’ve never known negativity to achieve any good, but positive attitudes can accomplish anything.

The Absolute worst of the Worst

Boy ! Les Miles getting a vote of confidence from the ABSOLUTE WORST AD in the entire history of NCAA Football that really saying something. AS the “THREE STOOGES” run the LSU football program into the ground. Yes the “THREE STOOGES” are running the LSU football program. The Three stooges as in Joe Alleva AD, The worst AD in the entire history of NCAA football. Les Miles and his hand picked OC Gary Crowtan. These " Three Stooges" have been responsible for sending our top out of state recruits running to other programs. Hell , I don’t blame Lance Seastrunk for choosing Oregon. Why waste your time on the bench at LSU where the coaches aren’t even smart enough to call time out or manage a game. Why would smart highly talented football players wish to gamble their and their family’s future on a Coaching staff that has become the Laughing stock of professional and college football coaches all over the country.

If you aren't enough of a fan to know how to spell the OC's name

Then you damn sure shouldn’t be criticizing him. What knowledge do you have of Joe Alleva? He was the best althletic director Duke has ever had. But, you probably didn’t know that. We didn’t even need “Lance” Seastrunk, because we have an even better back in Spencer Ware, from Ohio, who heads up a damn good recruiting class in what was considered to be a “down” year in the State of Louisiana. I’m sorry you fell off the bandwagon so hard after all the success in ‘03 and ’07, but hey, thats how football is, it’s called rebuilding. Quit your incessant whining and take your negative shit elsewhere. This isn’t tigerdroppings, we don’t want to hear it.

Thank you sir

It just seems like this is one of the few sites on the internet where the feeling is a generally positive, well informed atmosphere. I enjoy that and would like to keep it that way. I’m not saying the program is perfect obviously, but I certainly know where I can go if I want to hear negative things about it.
