AU vs LSU - The Numbers Lie

Never have these statistics meant less than in the AU vs. LSU game this season.

http://sec.xosdigitallabs.com/Portals/3/SEC%20Website/football/confldrs.htm

Most deceptive stats:

This is the Cam Newton stat.  Auburn is not successful lining up and conventionally running the ball.

RUSHING OFFENSE G Att Yards Avg. TD Yards/G
1. Auburn 7 333 1986 6.0 22 283.7
2. Ole Miss 6 257 1293 5.0 14 215.5
3. Miss. State 7 300 1483 4.9 16 211.9
4. LSU 7 285 1318 4.6 15 188.3

Auburn success against the run is a by product of teams having to pass to get back in the game and keep up with their offense.  Its more to do with their offense than their defensive front.  Fairley's sacks also skew this number.

RUSHING DEFENSE G Att Yards Avg. TD Yards/G
1. LSU 7 239 585 2.4 6 83.6
2. S. Carolina 6 199 601 3.0 3 100.2
3. Auburn 7 234 712 3.0 9 101.7
4. Georgia 7 247 724 2.9 8 103.4

LSU Passing game is not really this bad.  In spots where they are up against it, the numbers are through the ceiling.  The offense has produced in big moments during the season.

12. LSU 7 94 160 8 58.7 982 6.1 4 140.3

Auburn would be giving up way more sacks with a stationary QB.
