Arrogance, thy name is Alabama Fan

"No offense to LSU, they clearly deserved to win yesterday afternoon, but had we really been as good as we had all hoped (and some expected), we would have won this game with no great difficulty."

That was written by a manager and prolific writer of the RBR blog in a post that lasted over half of the front page of the blog that included no jump. And that's just an absolutely idiotic statement. I love the first sentence, it's akin to Ricky Bobby when he says 'with all due respect' before insulting the person he's speaking to. Also, it's always fun how Alabama fans manage to combine a backhanded compliment with delusional talk about how good they are and how much better they are than you.

The Bama fan next to me at the game would turn to his buddy everytime LSU broke a game changing play (Randle touchdown, Randle first down catch late) and explain it as defensive lapses or defensive youth. Not ONCE did this guy give LSU credit. There were many times I complimented his buddy on a good play by Bama. The buddy wasn't complimentary in return, but he wasn't a spoiled brat. And hell, after the Auburn game, I was humbled. If there was an Auburn fan around, I would've gladly complimented them on their team and quality of play.

We've had to endure the wonderful Alabama fan we all grew up loving, the one that wasn't happy just pulling for the Tide and winning, but had to let you know in victory, and even more in defeat, how awesome they are since, well, forever. It must suck to constantly be losing to teams like LSU (we're something like 9 of 10 for this decade) when you are better than everyone.

So enjoy the RBR blog and Bama fans everywhere, especially RBR. They are, after all, the ones that started the Meltdown post. I will bet you money that even when they feature themselves this week, there will still be an unmistakable arrogance in that post. Hell, Bama fans everywhere will. That's why wins like this one are just a bit sweeter.
