54 days...

KtownTiger does it again. I love these things.

Just so we are all on the same page this morning: Garrett is gone while Bourgeois and Matulis have been Tommy John'd out of the 2011 season. You are now looking at the Number 1 Zach Lee Fan Site on the Web.

The Manning Passing camp was held over the weekend at Nicholls St with many prep and college players from all over the region attempting to glean some knowledge from the 2nd and 3rd best QB's in the NFL. The Advoc mysteriously decided to focus on Bama QB Greg McElroy. Meanwhile, reports on the ground suggest that Russell Shepard has acclimated to the WR position nicely.

A quick American Legion summer ball update on signee Joe Broussard. 2-for-5 with 1 HR, 1 DBL, and 4 RBIs in the opening round of the summer tournament in Brusly. Geaux Ponstein’s Foods!

Also in baseball, Mikie Mahtook has made the 2010 Collegiate National Team, and will play all over the world this summer in international competition. The Team will face Korea and Japan in warm-up games in Rosenblatt, then they will travel to Taipei to play Taiwan and then to Tokyo for the World University Championships tournament.

It's hard enough to become a highly decorated track star in college and resist the temptation to sign sponsor contracts while the iron is hot. Harder still to come back and complete that degree while taking a year off to heal a hamstring injury. LSUSports.net profiles  20-time All-American Muna Lee who is now trying to finish off her final 24 credits and graduate next spring.

Team Speed Kills, the aptly named SBNation SEC Blog, has turned it's season preview eye on LSU this week. Many links to follow.

FISHING UPDATE: Despite going into the final day tied for 1st, the bass stopped biting on Saturday and the LSU Fishing team fell to finish in 5th place at this year's College Bass National Championships on Lake Maumelle in Arkansas this weekend.

COMPLETE SELLOUT UPDATE: Remember, it's the last day to unlock the Pro-Combat Unis, if you care about that sort of thing.

I love reading the report on the ground

I wish JJ could live with Peyton for the rest of the summer. Shepard should have a monster year at the slot WR; what an awesome accumulation of talent at WR: two ESPN #1’s WR coming out of high school, and ESPN 150 (82 grade) Chris Tolliver as the other three players in the two-deep.
