SEC Media Days begins this week and yours truly.....will be at work just like the rest of ya. Thankfully SB Nation is sending the folks from Team Speed Kills to do some award-winning reporting and the folks from EDSBS to cover the absurdity of it all. Les Miles isn't scheduled to speak until Friday and I'll post live stream information as soon as it's available.
Speaking of TSK, they finished up their LSU week over the weekend, briefly previewing our entire schedule, trying to figure out who our rival is, making picks for the year, and getting your esteemed writers thought's on the season. They've also got a survey trying to get your thought on the upcoming season. Please oblige them.
The Advoc has a run down on this past weekends 7-on-7 Passing and Lineman Camp which saw almost 1000 high school players from all over the country participate.
The TImes-Pic reports that there are still scarce details on Chad Jones' accident that nearly cost him his leg last month.
The Lady Tigers announced they will be opening the season at home against Ohio State on Nov. 17th.
The College Baseball Blog is reporting that Ranaudo is done in the Cape Cod League for the summer after 0 ER through nearly 30 IP. We now wait and watch to see if the Red Sox sign him.
Dandy Don has released his Ranking Predictions for SEC, College Football, and Louisiana High School Football for the upcoming year and they seem pretty spot on with what I think we are going to see.

Chad Jones and disability coverage
Does anybody know if CJ had disability coverage? I think you actually have to have played to participate in the Player’s Ass’n coverage but I also read that that coverage is minimal and I understand it does not cover off-the-field injuries. Obviously, since the contracts aren’t guaranteed, there is no incentive for the team to provide any type of coverage. He got an $825k signing bonus and a contract worth $2.6 total so I think he could have insured his non-guaranteed portions for about $30k a year ($10-12k a year for every $1mil in coverage from what I’ve read). I wonder if he did? Does anybody know more about how this works?
