Link Gumbo 9/8/10 - LATE EDITION

Sorry for the delay today, fighting off a nasty head cold and trying to get right for the weekend.

P90X Ain't got nothing on this

REMINDER: PICK'EM PICKS DUE THURSDAY BEFORE KICKOFF

Just to make sure we are all on the same page, LSU is playing Oregon at JerryWorld. Poseur has already volunteered to host a huge tailgate in his driveway, right Poseur?

Awards keep rolling in for Peterson's historic performance on Saturday: SEC Special Teams Player of the Week; Lott Player of the Week. He's even getting some serious Heisman talk from ESPN and our SB Nation mothership. It's early, but still you've got to like his chances if he can keep that level of production up.

Heading to Vanderbilt? Despite the down home good ol' boy coach, remember that it's still Vanderbilt, where the practice of cooking meats outdoors is for savages.

Despite my own predictions, We've moved up in the AP and held steady in the Grad Asst poll. We even moved up a spot in the BlogPoll (no dobt helped by a #3 ranking from Doc Saturday) but don't get excited. Stil a Lot of football to play.

Late word from Wednesday's practice: Ryan Baker, Karnell Hatcher and Chris Tolliver have all been cleared for Saturday. The post-practice interview video courtesy of the Times-Pic after the break. Elsewhere, Rosetta does some speculation about the O-line personnel after Will Blackwell's injury.

By LSU's count, there are nearly 60 former Tigers on NFL rosters and practice squads this season. (Note that Al Woods got picked up on the Steelers practice squad just a few days ago)

It's a far cry from the days of the Ole War Skule, but 11 new ROTC scholarship cadets took their oaths at The Box this week.

Soccer will try to get off the skid Thursday @ #10 BYU. The game will be live on the BYU network, which some of you on satellite systems will be able to catch.

After the break, an update on the Old Alex Box Lot

Come on over!

Just remember, as I live above I-10, I cannot cook for shit. I’ll supply beer.

Umm...

On the ESPN Heisman Watch page….MARK INGRAM still has a first place vote. How can you do that? He hasn’t even played a freaking game. Just kind of strange to me….
