My brother is a Hokie and I’ve been to probably a dozen games in Blacksburg, so this isn’t motivated by hatred of VT or their program, but….
Virginia Tech going to a BCS bowl is absolutely outrageous and is yet another reason why the BCS is evil. VT is being rewarded for playing a terrible schedule.

They didn’t take Boise State OR Oklahoma State b/c they wanted teams that travelled well? This game proves that the BCS is a farce.

A COMPLETE JOKE that V Tech is in a BCS bowl. They didn’t earn that what so ever. CHRIST THEY LOST THE ACC TITLE!
WVU won their conference
I’m not thrilled with the Big East getting an auto bid, but WVU at least has a title to point to. VT was selected as an at-large, which is even more outrageous.

There is a loophole
If UGA had won the title game but LSU and Bama still gotten in to the title game, UGA could’ve still gotten the SEC’s Sugar Bowl birth.

VT going to the Sugar Bowl has nothing to do with the BCS
Bowls are, and always have been, independent actors who choose their teams not based on the “best” teams but who they think will generate the most tourism money for the local economy. To the extent that the BCS is responsible for the Michigan-VT matchup, it’s because the MNC game “stole” the Sugar’s first two natural choices – LSU and Bama – leaving them to pick through the remainder.
Now I happen to agree Michigan-VT is a terrible pick for the Sugar Bowl, but for completely different reasons. Michigan will bring a huge, excited fanbase. Virginia Tech? Seriously doubt it.

I have no problem with Snyder being mentioned
No one could ever have expected them to do what they’ve done this year. True, I think their record is kind of an illusion, as they’ve been outgained significantly on the year. But if you get to 10-2 I don’t care if your team is kept together with baling wire and prayer.
Michigan is a different story. Hoke fell into a perfect situation. Rodriguez had finally gotten the talent he needed (Carr had done a poor job recruiting his last two years), and that team was poised to go 10-2 no matter who was the coach. The defense was set to make a huge improvement , and it did. Borges did his best to cram the square peg of Denard Robinson into the round hole of the “West Coast” offense, but Robinson is just so awesome that it didn’t matter.

Love the rematch,
would have preferred the Big 12 Champion to round out the (PAC12, Big East, SEC East) thing we had going but Bama is a great team and will be a great est for this team
