Torshiro Davis Commits
Davis is an OLB prospect from Woodlawn HS in Baton Rouge. Miles admitted yesterday that he would have liked to reel in another LB prospect in the 2011 class, but the 2012 class is off to a hot start with 2 LB commits already. He boasts offers from Alabama, Auburn and Oklahoma amongst others. Just as Miles puts the 2011 class to bed, it's back to the recruiting grind for 2012.

I never thought I'd say this but
Louisiana is STACKED with linebackers next year.

Issue in 2012 is going to be linemen
Because that’s where the state comes up short.

We have a great crop of young linemen
on both sides right now….hopefully on down year in the state won’t hurt us. Or….we’ll just go rob Texas some more.
Yeah, that's the thing
Gotta have some success out-of-state at the position (and you never want to be in the position of HAVING to go out of state for players at a particular spot, which is what’s always been the problem with linebacker recruiting), both OL and DL. And the lines are the one spot you always want to keep stocking up.

I'm not too worried about OL
Because there’s about 4-6 OOS guys right now that really list LSU as a top choice. If we hit on 3 of those, even, surely there’s one or two guys in state (Derek Edinburgh would be the lead dog, I think) we can haul. And those OOS guys are all big timers:
Vadal Alexander (Louisiana ties)
Guy from Evan Washington’s HS that many consider a lock
Nacho Garcia (good friends with Avery Johnson)
DJ Humpries
So there’s quite a few guys… plus whoever emerges throughout Spring/Summer/Fall, which always occurs.
Curtis Riser
We like him at Guard. He looks up to Evan Washington and is planning on attending LSU’s junior days. I think we can lock him up in the next few months.
Also, that Edinburgh dude.

Need to try and get in with Quay Evans as well

Riser... that's it.
Thanks Big.
Quay Evans definitely a target.
Definitely going to be a class with studs mostly coming from OOS, IMO.
Yeah, like I said
For the big guys, we’re gonna have to shop outside La.

But it looks like we are in on a lot of big guys as well. So, thats a plus.
And we create more ties to other states.
