We need something to get out of the swept funk, and Coach Mainieri is certainly delivering with the new lineup. There are even some rumors that Ott may be out of the closer role until he can find his grove again.
Tyler Jones is going back out there for LSU, hopefully trying to rebound from his disastrous showing at Nicholls last week. The Cajun have a double agent throwing for them in RHP Joe Zimmerman. He got a win against us late last season when he was still pitching for UNO.
The Cajuns have looked decent at times, but come in with a losing record and having dropped 2 of 3 to ULM over the weekend (though they did get a run rule victory on Sunday). Their best weapon at the plate is SS Greg Fontenot who leads with a .349 BA
Get in, get it done, and get ready for the road trip this weekend. It's the 1st of 3 Trading Card nights, and if anyone wants to help out this lowly blogger, I'd be much obliged.
