thoughts about Kelvin Sheppard to Bills fans

 Hi everyone,

Im a Bills fan, here in Brazil, and i was rooting back in the draft to Bills select ILB Kelvin Sheppard. All i heard pre draft was positive about the guy.

Now i want your thoughts about what we can expect from Shepp, short and long term. We can loose our best LB in poszluzny via free agency, and we have much discussions about if Shepp can be pluged in and produces right now. Same about if can Shepp play alongside Poz in our 3-4 defense.

Please, all your thoughts about our ILB.

thanks

He's an emotional leader

Which is a huge positive in college, but maybe a negative in the pros. That rah-rah stuff doesn’t seem to work in the NFL.

I love the guy, and he was the heart of our defense, but he’s also a guy who maximized every ounce of his talent. There’s not much “upside” to him. He should play hard and could be effective if you keep him on the inside. But I’m not expecting him to turn into a great NFL player. But he’ll always be one of my favorite Tigers. He’s just one of those guys you want to root for — he’s the Jacob Hester of defensive players.

He's a good fit in the 3-4

Because he’s much better at filling gaps than pursuing outside. Good size, and is decently athletic if not incredibly fast. Very smart player (could easily see him in coaching if he doesn’t have a long playing career), and seems to have an engaging personality as a leader.

Very similar player to Poszluzny.

Just saw this and figured I'd give me 2 cents

I agree with Billy that he’s a good 3-4 ILB, I hated Shep when he was on the Outside (admittedly it was with the 2 headed dragon of Peveto and Mallory) but when he moved inside he showed instincts and a real nose for the ball. He will probably max out at solid but not All Pro. Good but never great he should stay healthy though which is a step up from Poz
