I am of the opinion that the majority of the fan base is looking this JJ reinstatement stuff from the wrong angle. Granted the good people that frequent this site tend to see things from a slightly less maniacal stand point than the folks over at the site-that-shall-not-be-named, I still think there are different avenues to use to explore this NON issue.
I think we should take a step back and try to look at this from the teams standpoint. I know the players and coaches have supported Jordan throughout this whole ordeal and I know that the majority of the fans have as well. However it seems like since Jordan was reinstated last night a good bit of that fan support has ceased to exist. I don't know why and I dare not ask a fellow fan why he thinks any important member of the team being reinstated could possibly be construed as a BAD thing. Coach Miles has already said that Lee is the starter and that Lee and Jefferson both understand that and know that it is what's best for the team. No one has suggested Jefferson will walk out of the tunnel on Saturday fresh off of suspension and take the lions share of the snaps. What HAS happened is not something that can be announced by the coach, players or media members. What has happened you may ask?
A weight has been lifted. Whether or not Jefferson plays a little or not at all, a weight has been lifted from everyone on the team. He's back. He's back at practice, he's going to be back on the sideline during the games and he's going to be a leader. Don't look at Jefferson from a fan standpoint, look at him from the teammate standpoint. The dynamics of a locker room are a unique thing. These guys are family and a member of the family that was taken away, and unjustly so in their eyes, has been allowed to return to them. It's going to make a difference and its going to be a positive difference. Their family...our family....is whole again and it's time for everyone to start seeing it that way...it's awful selfish for any one of us to look at Jefferson coming back and see only the bad. Focus on the good. We're 4-0 and we've played the toughest schedule of anyone and come out not only completely unscathed, but #1 in the nation. Now, on top of that, we have the added emotional boost of our guys playing even harder for their teammate and friend who has been allowed to return to them. God knows Jordan has had enough from the media and fans of other schools blasting him all over the internet for a crime he was wrongly accused of, he doesn't need the added grief of the fan base decrying his return. The rest of the team is happy...we should be happy that they are so happy, only good things are coming for this team.
God bless and Geaux Tigers!
