DeAngelo Peterson and the National Championship
First off, I want to say that DeAngelo gets major props for his attitude while he has been at LSU. Here's a guy who starts out at wide receiver (commonly a diva position...make that THE diva position) and is switched to tight end, obviously a much less glamorous position. Despite being an obvious weapon and matchup nightmare there, he never is really utilized in the passing game. But he never (as far as I'm aware) complained about it, just went to work and kept getting bigger, and especially kept working on his blocking. He used to NEVER be in if it was a blocking situation because he was so bad at it, and this year I noticed him making some great blocks multiple times.
Having said that, what the heck happened in the National Championship? I've heard the rumors and read that fake email and I think it's all bull crap coming from "fans"...but then I read a quote like this, "We might call a couple of plays that we worked on, but as for the whole game plan I don't think we used it." I don't think there was any kind of race-driven rebellion before the game or anything...but does anyone have ANY ideas? Any rumors that strike you as more likely than not? I just am still extremely confused about the whole thing...although again, great job by DeAngelo of being classy. Even though he wishes he could've been showcased more he says he realizes that LSU was doing what was best to win the games.
PS, this is the article I'm using as my reference:

I think there's only one logical explanation for this.
Before the game, Peterson got into a big fight with Jefferson, who was drinking heavily, punching babies, and demanding to spend the week at Six Flags. Concerned, Peterson went to Les Miles and said “hey coach, maybe we should start the quarterback who isn’t punching babies?” In response, Miles said “NO ONE QUESTIONS MY QUARTERBACK KNOWLEDGE!” and benched Peterson and anyone else who had the audacity to question his decision making. You know, like a smart coach who wins 13 games and an SEC Championship would do.
I mean that’s what they’re saying on the Rant so obviously it happened.

Clarification, please:
Are we talking Six Flags in Dallas, or Six Flags in Georgia?
"I'm not black like Barry White, no I am white like Frank Black is"
Dallas, obviously.
JJ was too scared to go back to Georgia after he saw UGA’s “LSU-WHO?” video.

He has been under-utilized
As have a lot of skill players the past few seasons.

Yeah but, much like Russell Shepard
Peterson bears some responsibility for his own misuse. When you break off routes because you don’t want to get hit, coaches notice. Hell, even bloggers notice.

But wait
How does Shepard bear responsibility? I’m assuming it’s not for the same issue as Peterson, cause Shep has gotten LIT up several times going over the middle.
With Shep I'm refering to the drops, the inattention to detail, the reported lackadasical practice habits
and of course there was the NCAA suspension, which was ultimately caused by his inability to follow the investigator’s instructions. I’m not just talking about Jan. 9, I’m talking about the last three years. Yeah, the coaches definitely could’ve used him better but he’s made a lot of his own mistakes as well.
Peterson is kind of the same deal.

You can go further back
I think we could have done more with Trindon Holliday and Kieland Williams.

I think the lack of Keiland was his fault
Not sure but I remember hearing about the dislike of his fumbles and/or inability to pick up blocking schemes.
nemo me impune lacessit
I was told once he wasn't the most dilligent practicer either
And keep in mind, while he was sitting in 2007 Jacob Hester went off, and while he was sitting for most of 2008 Charles Scott was going off. In 2009 I’m not sure any back could’ve found yards behind that line.
