Berry Tramel: Regular season is what’s wrong with college football

How does that make every game count?
Right now every game does count. There were many repercussions from our nov 5 loss. It just so happened that the other teams that were in a position to get in lost games too. Should one loss automatically eliminate one team while other teams with similar losses not be eliminated? That is making every game count differently IMO.
If you want a conf championship rule, that’s fine. But the reasoning given here is ridiculous. Just imagine that Oregon had run the table after the lost to LSU… They would have been conference champs and still had a rematch with you in the bcs instead of bama… So how does that rule actually accomplish anything?

Yeah this is stupid
Or you could have had Bama being left out for Clemson? Or West Virginia? Horrible idea. Best idea I’ve seen so far was Gary Danielson’s 6 team playoff, with the top two seeds (and byes) going to conference champions.
Definitely.
I’ve wanted a 6 team playoff for a while. Gary Danielson doesn’t say smart things very often, but he’s right about this.

That sounds much more attractive than a 4 or 8-team playoff.
At the most, you would still only have to play 15 games, and it fits perfectly into the BCS games.
