Raiders assistant Adam Henry hired at LSU to replace Billy Gonzalez.
Henry is the current Raider's TE coach and has been on their staff since 2006. Before that he was a player and TE coach at McNeese St. for 10 years. Not quite sure what to make of it, but the timing is right with the dead period starting today.

I can tell you
he was on staff for some killer McNeese teams (killer for the FCS level)…..don’t know how much of that was him and how much was everything else. But McCarthy and Gonzales didn’t impress me at all. We’ve been lacking at that spot since Monken left. Hopefully Henry can fill that void.
I'm going to see what I can find and weigh in tonight
At first glance though, this fits the profile of what LSU needs.

I am enthused
by his Louisiana connections. They certainly couldn’t hurt our efforts of retaining in-state talent.

Should be a real winner of a hire
From what I’ve gathered, he’s got Texas ties, obviously ties to NOLA. He’s got NFL experience to point to, he’s young, and probably hungry to expand his resume.
Also, I’ve heard he’s very personable/likeable and should be a major asset in recruiting (though he hasn’t done it for 5+ years now).
I think this will end up being a great hire.
Eye right blahgs.
He's from Beaumont Texas
Puts a seed there for us, which is great. I like the hire, I think this guy is gonna do some good things for us.
