Four former Tigers were arrested on drug charges Thursday, including Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu.

Four former LSU football players were arrested on drugs charges Thursday, according to a report by Channel 9 WAFB in Louisiana.

Tyrann Mathieu and Jordan Jefferson were charged with simple possession, Karnell Hatcher was charged with his second offense of simple possession, and Derrick Bryant was charged with possession with intent to distribute, according to WFAB's Steve Caparotta.

According to Caparotta, the arrest came from a complaint of Jefferson trying to get past a security gate at an apartment complex.

The players were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison at approximately 5 p.m. local time.

Mathieu was a standout cornerback for LSU, but was kicked off the team in August for failing a drug test. Mathieu entered rehab shortly after.

As a sophomore last year, Mathieu recorded 76 total tackles and two interceptions. He forced two fumbles and returned two for touchdowns to earn the nickname "Honey Badger" and end up as a Heisman Trophy finalist.

Jefferson, a quarterback at LSU, graduated in 2011. His best season came as a sophomore when he threw for 2,166 yards and 17 touchdowns, against seven interceptions.
