Former LSU Tigers quarterback Jordan Jefferson was sentenced to one year of probation after pleading no contest on Wednesday to a simple battery charge stemming from a fight outside a Baton Rouge nightclub in Aug. 2011. Jefferson was charged with simple battery by a grand jury on Sept. 29, 2011, in relation to the fight at Shady's Bar on Aug. 19, 2011.

Jefferson was one of four former LSU players arrested on Thursday, Oct. 25 on drug charges. The possession charge was a violation of the terms of Jefferson's bond and he was ordered back to jail on Tuesday, Oct. 30. Jefferson entered his no contest plea on Wednesday and will be released from prison after receiving his sentencing.

Jefferson must perform 30 hours of community service, talking to kids and encouraging them to stay in school. He will also be subject to random drug testing throughout the year of his probation. The next hearing date for Jefferson is Dec. 12.
