It's a shame Miami had to get bounced 0-2 from their regional. I was so looking forward to seeing this play over and over again on TV.

It's a big evening for LSU baseball. First, the final round of the Coral Gables regional, where plucky Stony Brook faces Terry Rooney's UCF in a winner take all matchup for the right to come to Baton Rouge this weekend. The game is not on TV, but can be watched online for free at the link below, courtesy of the NCAA.

At the same time Stony Brook and UCF get underway, the 1st round of the 2012 MLB Draft wil begin on the MLB Network and free online at MLB.com

First here's the list of draft eligible players on the LSU roster. It's Junior's and above, with some exceptions. We have 3 draft eligible sophomores who are over 21, including likely Top 5 pick Kevin Gausman. With the exception of Gausman, I've seen no LSU player projected higher than the 200's

Next up, a list of LSU commits from the high school ranks. These are verbal commits only and they have right up until the signing deadline to decide whether to go pro or come to LSU. Unlike past years where we've had to play the waiting game with recruits and the madness of waiting until kids jump ship hours before the fall semester starts, the new CBA in the MLB has moved up the deadline to mid July (it varies depending on the All-Star Game, this year the deadline is July 13th at 5pm ET), along with a host of other changes meant to keep the amount spent on prospects on a more even keel. The list below is shamelessly cribbed from PerfectGame.com, a fantastic site for following both the college game as a whole and the massive world of MLB draft scouting. The big name to watch out for is Joey Gallo who is showing up on a lot of T25 lists, Jesmuel Valentin Diaz from Puerto Rico who's projected top 100, and Alex Bregman who's projected top 150.
