DeSean Smith, the No. 68 rated national recruit according to Rivals, faxed his national letter of intent to LSU. He is a four-star prospect.
Smith was the second-rated tight end in the country this year and helped lead Barbe High School of Lake Charles to the Louisiana Class 5A championship game with 815 yards and 11 touchdowns. He committed to LSU in July of 2012 over Alabama, Florida State and Clemson.
He offers the Tigers the most exciting pass-catching tight end prospect in years.
