Violent runner...uses his powerful build well...drops his pad level, delivers the blow and constantly falls forward...valuable on third down -- a willing blocker and skilled receiver with soft hands and better than average athleticism...former high-school quarterback...shifty feet and good vision in traffic, with better explosion than you would think for a back with his speed.
Lacks top-end speed in the open field...not a big-play threat...as good as he is in traffic, Ware will occasionally run to contact in the open field when it's not necessary...struggled with discipline and missed time for suspensions...running style may lead to a short NFL shelf-life.
Ware, like his teammate Ford, is a limited back, however he is a much more complete one. He's a pure power runner with soft hands in the passing game and better agility and body control than you would suspect on first glance. And while that may make for a better NFL future, his lack of speed will always limit him to a complimentary role. Still, his skills could translate well, even as a fullback -- he has the right mindset, and would bring versatility to such a role. Athletically, he's very similar to Stevan Ridley, though a step slower, or maybe Marion Barber, though with better hands. Draft range from the fourth round and lower.
