And athletic defensive end with good size...strong enough to withstand head-on blocks in the running game...long arms for shedding blocks, with quick hands to employ his repertoire of rush moves and get his hands in the air to bat passes...quick in space when asked.
Inconsistent effort...Edwards was largely a rotation player due to playing behind stars like Sam Montgomery and Barkevious Mingo, but still had his opportunities to shine and was never consistent...struggled with pad level getting around the edge, and was vulnerable to getting pushed past the QB.
There's no question Edwards has NFL talent -- he's a smooth athlete and former high-school tight end that has displayed skill versus both the run and the pass. His size would allow him to fit in well in both 4-3 and 3-4 alignments. But his effort level has never been consistent. A lot of peaks and valleys, big games followed by disappearances. He's skillset is too good to ignore, and some team will take a chance on his athleticism somewhere between the third and fifth rounds.
