LSU's biggest camp of the summer starts today and runs through Saturday. Last year's iteration drew rave reviews for the number of high quality prospects in attendance. This year looks to be no different. Prospects from the signing classes of 2015 all the way through 2018 will all be in Baton Rouge to compete with one another.
The camp kicks off this afternoon with registration concluding at 2 p.m. Players will time and test after registration. The first practice will begin at 3:45 p.m.
Keep in mind that LSU places a heavy emphasis on doling out offers to players they get to evaluate in their own camps. Last year Cameron Sims (who eventually signed with Alabama) never received an offer primarily because he refused to come and be evaluated in person. This year, there doesn't appear to be any top flight prospects taking a similar route. The Elite camp will feature prospects both in-state and out, and you can expect a handful of new offers to go out, as well as some possible commitments.
Here's a snap shot of the major names in attendance. Commits in bold:

What to Watch For?
Pretty loaded list, particularly at defensive back. The key things here will be who impresses in camp. Many of the players currently considered fringe prospects have an opportunity to earn offers. Arthur McGinnis is a LB that's impressed at recent camp settings. Chavis will have a chance to see him in person during camp.
Can LSU put themselves in good position with Sheffield (considered a heavy A&M lean), Jaason Lewis, Du'Vonta Lampkin, Roney Elam, CeCe Jefferson and Leo Lewis. Jefferson and Leo Lewis, in particular, would be superstar adds to the 2015, but both will be tough to pull.
Deshawn Raymond could be a guy that pulls the trigger on a commitment this weekend. Keep an eye on Tyler Higby, as well.
The other thing to keep an eye on is solidifying the commitment of Nick Brossette, who is receiving a huge push from Texas right now. I'd be surprised if a University Lab kid that LSU wanted got away, but it's worth noting.

Devin White | Springhill, LA | ATH | 4 Star |
Drake Davis | Baton Rouge, LA | WR | 4 Star |
Michael Divinity | New Orleans | OLB | 4 Star |

Jamal Pettigrew | New Orleans, LA | TE | 4 Star |
Matt Beck | Alexandria, LA | QB | NR |
Ed Oliver | Houston, TX | DT | 4 Star |
Donavaughn Campbell | Ponchantoula, LA | OL/DL | NR |
John Broussard | Phenix City, AL | CB | 4 Star |
Chidi Okeke-Valentine | Miami, FL | OT | 4 Star |
Shyheim Carter | Kentwood, LA | CB | 4 Star |
The headlining name is probably Shea Patterson, whose brother we recently hired. LSU offered Patterson a scholarship just a couple weeks ago, and there's a good chance they can flip him from Arizona. That may not go down this weekend, but it's worth noting. The fun thing will be seeing him compete next to current LSU commit Feleipe' Franks.
It will also be interesting to see how they approach offers here. Shyheim Carter, recent Alabama commit, is expected to get an offer. Could LSU get him thinking of a flip? John Broussard is another one to watch.
If there are commitments from this crew, I'd suspect it to come Devin White, Michael Divinity or Mykel Jones.
2017
Player | Hometown | Position | Composite Star Rating |
Dylan Moses | Baton Rouge, LA | ATH | NR |
Lowell Narcisse | St. James, LA | QB | NR |
Bruce Jordan-Swilling | New Orleans, LA | ATH | NR |
Clyde Edwards-Halaire | Baton Rouge, LA | RB | NR |
Adrian Ealy | Baton Rouge, LA | OT | NR |
Obviously Dylan Moses is well known. Lowell Narcisse will be under evaluation by Cameron, competing with current LSU commits Justin McMillan, Feleipe' Franks, and Zadock Dinkelmann as well as Shea Patterson. Can he impress?
2018
Player | Hometown | Position | Composite Star Rating |
Zadock Dinkelmann | Somerset, TX | QB | NR |
Should be a good chance for him to compete with some high level talent.
Summary
It's a huge weekend with loads of 5-star talents. Keep your twitter feeds open and give me a follow. My guess is that not only will we see multiple new offers handed out, but a series of commitments, somewhere in the 3-4 range, possibly. Next to All-American bowl season and National Signing Day itself, this will be one of the most exciting recruiting weekends in this cycle.
