Les waxes poetic about the start of the school year and generally gets some softball questions about the team. The important notes: Bolden first reached out to LSU more than a year ago, but could not get the release from PSU at the time. Bolden also initiated the contact this year about 3 months ago, and was intending to transfer even before the NCAA restrictions hit PSU. Liggins will be spending 2 years in JUCO The only others not starting camp tomorrow are Avery Johnson and Fanikia, the rest of the team is all accounted for. The rest is general Miles-isms, including a reference to the Spanish-American War

A Fresh Start for Rob Bolden

After a few days of speculation, we learned officially today that Rob Bolden has transferred from Penn State and landed at LSU. He's on campus; he's at practice. Ladies and gentleman, here is your...

2013 CB Rashard Robinson Commits!

5

This isn't much of a surprise to those who have followed closely. Robinson earned an offer in April, camped here a couple weeks ago and was back on campus for an unofficial visit today and couldn't resist pulling the trigger. He's listed at 6'2", 163, so a tall, lean corner. He's got elite make-up speed and a fly haircut. Fits the mold of the type of outside CB we typically covet. Really like his ability to turn and run. Not afraid to tackle, but not a hitter either. He's a true cover guy. Super long armed. Reminds me, physically, of Tharold Simon. Goes to the same high school as Patrick Peterson and younger brother Avery Johnson attended. Really nice pickup. That brings the class to 22. Only 3 spots left to fill and there are some big names left on the board. The Robinson commitment does make you wonder where we stand with Priest Willis, who is amongst the best CB prospects in this year's class.

2014 ATH Devin Voorhies Commits!

10

Not breaking news, but I was out and about all weekend, so this is the first chance I've had to get to it. Interesting pick-up, as he is from Mississippi. 247 ranks him 68th overall for the class of 2014. Big kid, at 6'2", 185 pounds. By comparison, that's about what Debo Jones of this year, or Tahj Jones of a couple years ago were at coming out. He's a jack-of-all-trades type in HS, playing QB/WR/RB/S/Returner/Best player on the field, and I like that. I'm a big fan of safety prospects who play QB. Could even wind up on offense at LSU. Check his highlights. He's downright explosive. Quick-twitch athlete. Tremendous top end speed. Great leaper. Great hands. I wish had something negative to say because I pretty much made him sound like the greatest football player alive, but his tape is pretty much him running circles around the other children. He can't really throw. So there! No clue on relation to Saved By the Bell's Lark Voorhies.
