"'I’m excited to be able to get another year so that I can finish my career on the field,' Dworaczyk said in a statement released by LSU. 'I felt like I had some unfinished business, so being able to get this additional year is a blessing."

Awesome.

"If college football is destined for a four-team, plus-one playoff, make only conference champions eligible. That way, every regular-season game really will count."

This seems to verify what "WhoDatSaintsLSU" posted 9 days ago.

"I just think, the offense, we didn't have a chance to put the ball in our playmakers hands to do something," Peterson said. The game plan that we had, that we were working on in the weeks before the game and everything, I don't think we used it. So, as for going to 'plan B,' that would have been 'plan B,' - the game plan that we planned for. I felt we were going to run all the plays we we'd been practicing up to that time for the game we really weren't calling none of it. We might call a couple of plays that we worked on, but as for the whole game plan I don't think we used it. I just think the playmakers on offense, they didn't really have a chance to make no plays. That's the big thing that bothers me. I feel like I could have done more to help the team move the ball, Russell Shepard feels the same way, Rueben Randle feels the same way, our other receivers feel the same way. That's the main thing, that we didn't have the opportunity."

First, there is the national exposure that comes with a successful football season. During this season, nearly all of LSU’s games were nationally televised, including the Southeastern Conference championship game and the national championship game. That means that week after week, people across the nation got a chance to see what LSU is about. It also means that the university’s promotional television spot aired repeatedly to a national audience. That is exposure that LSU could never have afforded to buy – especially in this era of budget cuts and diminished state support for public higher education.

Over at the SB Nation mothership, The Historical takes a look at the 1964 Alabama vs. LSU matchup that pitted two undefeated teams on collusion course for the conference crown and a shot at the national championship.

I think y'all might enjoy it if for no other reason than this photo of Tiger head coach Charlie McClendon.

The piece is a follow-up of sorts to the piece I did on at the 1958 meeting between the two teams in Mobile's Ladd Stadium. That game, interestingly, is the last time the two have met at a neutral site until today.

Foggy Mountain Breakdown rhythm. I really enjoy this person's stuff because they are different from the others, don't take cheap shots, have content, and can be enjoyed by kids. These videos might be different, but that talking cat series of videos about the BCS process on the same channel makes clearer sense about the system than anything I've read or heard.

Former LSU Tiger [and National Champion Quarterback] Matt Flynn sets Green Bay Packer records today, with a 480 yard passing performance, and not 4, not 5, but 6 [SIX!!!] touchdown passes. Again, both are single game Green Bay Packer records. Congrats to Flynn, and thank you LSU!!!
